Ahead of What If\u2026?<\/em>\u2019s season 3 premiere on December 22nd, Disney Plus has dropped a trailer spotlighting some of the new alternate universe stories featuring slightly different versions of previously-introduced MCU characters. The season will see Shang-Chi<\/a> (Simu Liu) reimagined as a cowboy, Agatha Harkness<\/a> (Kathryn Hahn) in a cosmic flapper guise, and the Avengers become a super sentai team with interconnecting mechs. That all feels like the exact kind of madness that has already made the show a fun, whiz-bang watch, but what\u2019s really surprising to see is Storm (Alison Sealy-Smith) showing up as a hammer-wielding Thor.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n In Marvel\u2019s Secret Wars<\/em> comics event, Storm spent some time<\/a> as a member of the Thor Corps \u2014 a group of people recruited from different universes by Doctor Doom to serve as the police in his Battleworld<\/a> reality. When What If\u2026? <\/em>first debuted, the show seemed like a collection of out-there stories that might not have all that much to do with what\u2019s going on in Marvel\u2019s films. But with Doctor Doom on the way<\/a> and a Secret Wars <\/em>feature<\/a> in the works, it\u2019s looking more and more like What If\u2026? <\/em>might end up being a pretty important piece of the franchise\u2019s ongoing story.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
