Love Is Blind<\/em><\/a> showrunner Chris Coelen<\/strong> wasn\u2019t pleased with the fact that several arguments between the couples weren\u2019t caught on camera in season 7.<\/p>\n Alex Byrd<\/strong> and Tim Godbee<\/strong> had a couple of arguments during their time on the show, but none of them were filmed for viewers to see. However, Alex, 33, later addressed what went down behind the scenes<\/a> with Tim, 33, during the reunion.<\/p>\n \u201cI love that they ultimately did that on the reunion,\u201d Chris, 56, said during an interview with Salon<\/em> that was published on November 1, \u201cBut I think it was to their detriment that they didn\u2019t do it during the experiment itself.\u201d<\/p>\n Chris explained that while he was \u201call for being really transparent and open about whatever people are talking about\u201d during filming, he ultimately believed that it was damaging to the couples\u2019 relationships to not have these conversations in front of a camera.<\/p>\n \u201cIt just creates a negativity. And the people who are much more open about, \u2018Hey, I\u2019ve got an issue,\u2019 \u2018Hey, I\u2019m feeling a certain way\u2019 . . . Ultimately, whether they work out or not, benefit from that,\u201d Chris told the publication. \u201cWe\u2019re not filming with them 24\/7. We only know what they tell us. And I know sometimes that\u2019s frustrating for a viewer like, why weren\u2019t they there? Because we\u2019re not \u2018Big Brother.\u2019 We aren\u2019t there all the time.\u201d<\/p>\n Fans were left wondering about several conversations during Love Is Blind<\/em> season 7, but the most notable one was between Alex and Tim<\/a>. Viewers saw the former couple<\/a> at a party the night before, but the next scene showed that Tim hadn\u2019t slept in the same room as Alex, and it was obvious that something went down between the two. While the audience got snippets of the events that led to their fight, it wasn\u2019t fully explained until the reunion, which aired on October 30, almost a month after the first episodes dropped.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat you didn\u2019t get to see was a verbal disagreement,\u201d Alex explained to hosts Nick<\/strong> and Vanessa Lachey<\/strong>. \u201cAs you saw, I\u2019m very close to my family, and my dad had been admitted to a rehab facility a week before I left [to film Love Is Blind]. Being three weeks not talking to them, it just kind of weighed in on me at that moment, and I just wanted space.\u201d<\/p>\n Alex added that when she wasn\u2019t \u201cgiven the space that she wanted,\u201d it turned into a disagreement. Tim then added his own version of the incident.<\/p>\n \u201cShe had left before me at the pool party, and I was trying to catch her,\u201d Tim said. \u201cI could tell she was upset so in my head, I\u2019m thinking, \u2018OK, this is my fianc\u00e9e. I want to be there for her.\u2019 So, I approach her and say, \u2018Hey, are you OK? What\u2019s going on?\u2019 We\u2019re in this hotel bathroom. Everything\u2019s been good to this point for me.\u201d<\/p>\n Tim revealed that Alex was \u201ccrying on the floor\u201d and he was \u201ctrying to figure out what was going on\u201d and that\u2019s when the argument escalated. Alex had previously admitted that she \u201cput her hand over Tim\u2019s mouth\u201d during their spat, and both parties wanted to clarify that in no way was it \u201cassault.\u201d However, Alex explained that she covered Tim\u2019s mouth in an attempt to avoid the cameras filming their fight.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m literally put in a position where I\u2019m trying to prevent production [from coming in and seeing] this fight, like, this argument we\u2019re having,\u201d Alex said. \u201cI don\u2019t want it to seem like we\u2019re in a bad space or that I don\u2019t want cameras to come in and make him look bad. Simple as that. I was trying to protect him. I just wanted to de-escalate the entire situation so that we could just go to sleep and revisit it in the morning.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
