Just recently, Jonathan appeared on the \u201cBachelor Happy Hour\u201d podcast with Joe Amabile<\/strong> and Serena Pitt<\/strong>. He spoke about his dating life before going on the show.<\/p>\n\u201cLiving in Oakland, Iowa, in a town of about 1,500 people, there\u2019s no one in my dating pool,\u201d Jonathan said. \u201cSo I had to reach out to social media to see if I could connect with someone.\u201d<\/p>\n
He explained that his past relationship had a major \u201cdistance factor.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cMy last relationship lasted about a year and I met a girl online,\u201d he said. \u201cShe was from Norway and I was pretty impulsive and I ended up flying over to Norway to meet her. And she flew to the States and met me here a couple times and so it was a good relationship, but it was difficult because that\u2019s quite a distance. It\u2019s like over 4,000 miles away and a lot of things to consider.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt became more of a fantasy that I was involved in and it took me out of my reality, it took me out of my present day, my responsibilities of doing things for my kids, for my job, things like that. And so the dating life has been kind of hit or miss,\u201d he explained. \u201cThere\u2019s always been a distance issue with me, but you know I\u2019ve never given up on it, though.\u201d<\/p>\n
Overall, Jonathan is grateful for his experience on The Golden Bachelorette<\/em> and the opportunity to meet Joan.<\/p>\n\u201cI believe in love at first sight, so that kind of moment, that\u2019s what I was envisioning,\u201d he said of meeting Joan for the first time when he stepped out of the limo on night one. \u201cIf Joan and my eyes met for the first time and we had that connection, that\u2019s what I was looking for because that\u2019s a very powerful first moment between two people.\u201d<\/p>\n
Now that Jonathan is seemingly off the market, the door for the next Golden Bachelor is wide open.
