<\/p>\n David Muir<\/strong> brings the news to people every night as the anchor for ABC World News<\/em>.<\/p>\n Muir got his start in the broadcasting industry at the age of 13, when he joined a local news station in his hometown of Syracuse as an intern. In 2003, he joined ABC News where he covered countless historic events and reported from around the world.<\/p>\n After a decade at the station, he was named as Diane Sawyer<\/strong>\u2019s replacement. Since then, he\u2019s continued to interview multiple political figures, win several prestigious awards, moderate Presidential debates and more.<\/p>\n \u201cAll of the noise that you hear afterward, about which candidate won the debate, the moderators win or lose, that\u2019s just noise,\u201d Muir said of his experience moderating the 2024 debate during a September appearance on Live With Kelly and Mark<\/em><\/a>. \u201cYou all know that. He went to school at Ithaca College, where he graduated magna cum laude. While Muir resides in New York City now, he does spend time upstate and bought a home on Skaneateles Lake.<\/p>\n \u201cThis job takes me all over the world, and I can\u2019t think of a better place to catch my breath,\u201d Muir said to Syracuse.com<\/a> in September 2023.<\/p>\n While Muir\u2019s job has taken him to many different locations over the years, the broadcaster still enjoys catching the sights in his free time. His social media page is full of snaps of him in Italy, Greece, France, Vietnam and more.<\/p>\n \u201cSacre-Coeur,\u201d he captioned a photo of him outside the Parisian landmark. \u201cParis never disappoints.\u201d<\/p>\n His love of travel started at a young age as he studied abroad in Salamanca, Spain, while in college.<\/p>\n Muir and Ripa have been in the ABC family for more than two decades. While they don\u2019t work together every day, they have formed a sweet friendship. Muir has attended several events alongside Ripa including charity fundraisers, birthday parties and more.<\/p>\n \u201c15 years of making us smile in the morning,\u201d Muir captioned a picture of him and the morning show host in February 2016. \u201cGreat fun celebrating my friend @kellyripa this am.\u201d<\/p>\n In addition to being close with Ripa, Muir is also pals with her husband<\/a>, Mark Consuelos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cHappy birthday @instasuelos \u2013 you make every view better \u2013 truly,\u201d Muir wrote via Instagram in March 2019.<\/p>\n You have successfully subscribed.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n Muir comes from a blended family with an older sibling and two younger step-siblings. While Muir does not have kids of his own \u2014 if you don\u2019t count his adorable pup<\/a>, Axel \u2014 he\u2019s the doting uncle to six nieces and three nephews.<\/p>\n \u201cMy squad left,\u201d Muir captioned a selfie of him, one of his nephews and two of his nieces. \u201cSent the nieces and nephew back to school. Bring #4 next time.\u201d<\/p>\n Over the years, the reporter has attended several charity events<\/a> and worked with organizations like the World Food Programme, Unicef, Save the Children and more.
