The gang is getting back together!<\/p>\n

Following the success of Deadpool & Wolverine<\/em><\/a> this past summer, Ryan Reynolds<\/strong><\/a> said he is writing a new movie that will reunite him with costar Hugh Jackman<\/strong><\/a> and director Shawn Levy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The catch? It won\u2019t be a Deadpool<\/em> sequel.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m spending the year writing,\u201d Reynolds told Variety<\/em><\/a> in a podcast interview set for release this week. \u201cI\u2019m writing a movie for myself, Hugh and Shawn to do that is not Marvel.\u201d<\/p>\n

Their friendship with Taylor Swift has made headlines over the years. After Lively met Swift in 2015, the actress and her husband celebrated the 4th of July at Swift\u2019s infamous party in 2016. Deadpool & Wolverine<\/em> marked Reynolds and Jackman\u2019s debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe following Disney\u2019s acquisition of 20th Century Fox in 2019. The film \u2014 which featured a plethora of cameos<\/a> including Jennifer Garner<\/strong>, Wesley Snipes<\/strong>, Chris Evans<\/strong> and Reynolds\u2019 wife Blake Lively<\/strong> \u2014 has grossed over $1 billion worldwide since its July release. (No wonder Reynolds is eager to team up with Jackman and Levy again!)<\/p>\n

While promoting the Marvel blockbuster, Reynolds, 48, and Jackman, 56, put their close friendship on full display. The Deadpool actor shared that his and Lively\u2019s children \u2014 James, 9, Inez, 8, Betty, 5, and Olin \u2014 even call Jackman \u201cUncle Hugh.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re all kind of in love with Uncle Hughy over here, so that worked out pretty well,\u201d Reynolds told Extra<\/em> in a joint interview with Jackman at the Deadpool & Wolverine<\/em> premiere in New York City<\/a> in July. \u201cHe got attacked by Betty backstage, who thinks she has claws, so she goes at him. I have to actually give her a little tiny time-out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reynolds previously teased that he wants to continue working with Jackman when he shared an Instagram post commemorating Jackman\u2019s 56th birthday<\/a> in October.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope we get to do this til we\u2019re 90,\u201d Reynolds captioned a series of photos of him and his costar. \u201cHappy Birthday, @thehughjackman. A lot of years. A lot of adventures.\u201d<\/p>\n
