\t\t<\/p>\n Barry Keoghan<\/strong><\/a> is responding to claims that he\u2019s a \u201cdeadbeat dad\u201d after his recent comments on fatherhood went viral.<\/p>\n The 31-year-old Saltburn <\/em>actor appeared on a recent episode of The Louis Theroux Podcast<\/em> and was asked about the accusations that have portrayed him as a \u201cdeadbeat\u201d father.<\/p>\n Barry <\/strong>responded and also explained why he rarely posts on social media about being a father.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s a lot online. If I didn\u2019t have tough skin or the strength to have, I wouldn\u2019t be sitting here,\u201d Barry <\/strong>said. \u201cOf course, [his childhood is] going to affect me being a father when I had no blueprint to take from. People just read that [as] laziness and go, \u2018Oh, that\u2019s no excuse to be an absent father.\u2019 I\u2019m not an absent father. But it\u2019s just, again, people love to use my son as ammunition or whatever.\u201d<\/p>\n Barry <\/strong>continued, \u201cAnd it kind of leads me to stop, the more attention I\u2019ve [gotten] lately and the more in the public I\u2019ve become, the less I\u2019ve posted about my child, because I don\u2019t think it\u2019s fair to put my child online. And because I reigned that in, people draw a narrative and go, \u2018Absent father, s\u2014, deadbeat dad,\u2019 and more disgusting things I wouldn\u2019t even repeat. Just the audacity of some people, man. It sickens me, makes me furious.\u201d<\/p>\n The host told Barry <\/strong>to stop looking at social media comments, but he explained why he sometimes still does that.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen I\u2019ve got a bit of time, I am a curious being like all of us, and you want to know what [people are saying online], especially when it\u2019s slander and when it\u2019s bad comments attacking my appearance or attacking me as a father,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019ve even blocked out certain words because I don\u2019t want to read that. Stuff like my son \u2013 people don\u2019t deserve to put that in a sentence, anything.
