Scooter Braun<\/b><\/a> has said it\u2019s \u201ctime to move on\u201d from his feud with<\/span> Taylor Swift<\/b><\/a> following the release of the Taylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun: Bad Blood<\/em> docuseries.<\/p>\n \u201cI watched [the documentary] recently. I wasn\u2019t going to watch it because I just thought it was going to be, like, another hit piece,\u201d Scooter, 43, told the crowd at a screening of the Max and Discovery+ docuseries<\/span><\/a> in Los Angeles on Thursday, October 10, <\/span>according to event footage<\/span><\/a> posted via YouTube. \u201cAnd I pretty much stayed quiet about this kind of stuff. And my dad called me and my mom, and they were like, we just watched it. We think you should watch it. So I did.\u201d<\/p>\n The docuseries looks back at Scooter\u2019s 2019 acquisition of Taylor\u2019s former record label, Big Machine Label Group. As a result of the business deal, Scooter gained the rights to her masters. However, the music mogul no longer has ownership of Taylor\u2019s masters<\/a> after he sold them to Shamrock Holdings in November 2020 for over $300 million.<\/p>\n \u201cLook, it\u2019s five years later,\u201d Scooter pointed out. \u201cI think, everyone, it\u2019s time to move on<\/a>. There were a lot of things that were misrepresented.\u201d<\/p>\n He then said that it\u2019s important for people to \u201ccommunicate directly with each other\u201d when presented with conflict. \u201cI think doing it out on social media and in front of the whole world is not the place,\u201d Scooter said. \u201cI think when people actually take the time to stand in front of each other have a conversation, they usually find out the monster\u2019s not real. And that has not happened.\u201d<\/p>\n Scooter was also asked if he would ever represent Taylor, 34, before he praised her as a musician. \u201cI think the artist that\u2019s one you should always bet on, and is already a huge star, and you can always bet on because they want it all the time, and they do whatever it takes to be present, is Taylor Swift,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n After Scooter was granted ownership of the masters for Taylor\u2019s first six albums, the \u201cLove Story\u201d singer issued a lengthy statement in a July 2019 Tumblr blog post claiming that her music was sold without any consultation with her first. \u201cI walked away because I knew once I signed that contract, [Big Machine Records founder and CEO] Scott Borchetta<\/strong> would sell the label, thereby selling me and my future,\u201d she wrote. \u201cI had to make the excruciating choice to leave behind my past.\u201d<\/p>\n Taylor\u2019s post also included a screenshot of a since-deleted Instagram photo with Scooter\u2019s former client Justin Bieber<\/strong>, in which they were FaceTiming with Kanye West<\/strong>. \u201cTaylor Swift what up,\u201d Justin, 30, captioned the post, seemingly making light of her longtime feud with Ye<\/a>, 47.<\/p>\n She said that the social media post was \u201cdistasteful and insensitive,\u201d and said it was an example of Scooter \u201cbullying\u201d her when she was at her \u201clowest point.\u201d<\/p>\n After Scooter got ownership of her masters, Taylor began rerecording her first six albums. She has since released \u201cTaylor\u2019s Versions\u201d of Fearless, Red, Speak Now<\/em> and 1989<\/em>, while fans are anxiously awaiting the re-releases of Reputation<\/em><\/a> and her self-titled debut album.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
