Same goes for <em>Days of Our Lives<\/em>, when they lost <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2024\/10\/drake-hogestyns-cause-of-death-confirmed-so-very-tragic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Drake Hogestyn.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It then seemed like a no-brainer then to assume that when Season 26 of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2022\/07\/american-pickers-fans-to-mike-wolfe-stop-pretending-that-you-care-about-frank-fritz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">American Pickers<\/a><\/em> kicked off, it\u2019d be dedicated to Frank. After all, it premiered just a little over a week after his death.<\/p>\n<p>The season premiere aired and \u2026 nothing. There was no special dedication at all. No opening graphic, not tribute at the end of the episode. Fans have missed him, but have understood his absence.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>They were less forgiving of the show failing to acknowledge his passing. Given that the show was filmed months before Frank\u2019s death, it was understandable that there was no footage discussing his passing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But fans were quick to point out the other ways they could\u2019ve paid tribute.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was no dedication to Frank on the season premiere last night. I feel like they should have at least made a title card at the end or something to honor him?\u201d posted on Reddit user in a American Pickers sub-Reddit.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTotal disrespect! This show was and is still dead to me,\u201d posted another, furious with the slight.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHonestly I think the show is dog s\u2014- without Frank. I don\u2019t even bother watching episodes without him anymore,\u201d shared another.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-history-channel-s-tribute-to-frank\"><strong>History Channel\u2019s Tribute To Frank<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Now, to play devil\u2019s advocate, the network did air a tribute to Frank after the news of his passing. The channel put together a highlights reel of favorite moments from his time on <em>American Pickers<\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It included moments like their big sale to Aerosmith or when he got this close to owning a vintage Knucklehead Harley Davidson. But the reel was posted on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=RZdUWW5MXmo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Youtube<\/a>, not aired on the History Channel itself.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It did, however, accompany this statement:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are saddened to share that our friend and beloved member of The HISTORY Channel and American Pickers family, Frank Fritz, has passed away on September 30, 2024. Frank filmed <em>American Pickers<\/em> for over a decade. We will always remember \u2018the bearded charmer\u2019 and his never-ending search for vintage motorcycles and bikes. Our thoughts are with Frank\u2019s loved ones during this difficult time. But as the 26th season is just taking off, there\u2019s time to correct the error.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the weeks that followed Frank\u2019s passing, fans have received more information about Frank\u2019s failing health from his longtime friend <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/tv\/12630400\/american-pickers-frank-fritz-lost-will-live-stroke-tough-recovery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jerry Gendreau<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He actually explained in an interview with<em> The Sun<\/em> just how bad things had been for poor Frank towards the end.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou would go to see him in the nursing home and one-half of his body was completely done. He would lift his arm up and it would just drop,\u201d explained Jerry.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Adding that it was \u201ctough to be totally bedridden\u201d for Frank, Jerry explained that he felt Frank was just ready to be done with all the \u201cbad days.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve seen this when people get tired, they get tired.
