Canadian rockers The Beaches have opened for The Rolling Stones<\/a> more than once, but the shock still hasn\u2019t worn off.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was crazy,\u201d drummer Eliza Enman-McDaniel<\/strong> exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> ahead of the band\u2019s Weekend 1 performance at the 2024 Austin City Limits<\/a> music festival. \u201cI remember the first time we got the call, we all immediately phoned our parents.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite their \u201cdisbelief\u201d at being offered the opportunity, the group gave it their all. \u201cThe shows went super well,\u201d Enman-McDaniel added. \u201cThey were really, really kind to us, and it was just an honor for us.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Beaches \u2014 whose other members are Jordan Miller<\/strong>, Kylie Miller<\/strong> and Leandra Earl<\/strong> \u2014 first joined the Stones in Ontario on their 2019 No Filter Tour.<\/em> Five years later, they opened for the legends once again on their Hackney Diamonds<\/em> tour, taking the stage in Santa Clara, California, in July.<\/p>\n

When it comes to backstage hijinks, however, the energy was fairly tame. \u201cWe saw Keith Richards and his wife on a golf cart,\u201d Jordan told Us<\/em> at Austin\u2019s Zilker Park.<\/p>\n

Earl, meanwhile, had her eyes on a one-of-a-kind souvenir. \u201cI tried to steal a lazy Susan that was shaped like the tongue,\u201d she recalled. \u201cBut it was before we went on stage and I didn\u2019t wanna get kicked out for stealing a lazy Susan.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Beaches dropped two EPs before signing with Universal Records in 2016. Their debut album, Late Show<\/em>, was released in 2017. Following a steady stream of new projects, the band broke through with 2023\u2019s \u201cBlame Brett,\u201d the first single from their second record, Blame My Ex<\/em>. The song went viral on TikTok, which Jordan called \u201ca dream come true.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I knew it was gonna be a popular song, but I don\u2019t think you ever release anything online and then expect for what happened with \u2018Blame Brett\u2019 to happen,\u201d the lead vocalist told Us<\/em>, confessing that there was \u201cquite a bit of imposter syndrome happening\u201d at the height of the song\u2019s success.<\/p>\n

Enman-McDaniel added, \u201cI think it even took me a while to believe what was going on. I think it took me a solid week to understand the impact of it.\u201d<\/p>\n
