\t\t<\/p>\n John Mulaney<\/strong><\/a> is getting a talk show!<\/p>\n Following Everybody\u2019s in LA<\/em>, the 42-year-old comedian will launch a live weekly talk show with Netflix<\/strong><\/a> in 2025, via Variety<\/a>.<\/p>\n Chief content officer Bela Bajaria<\/strong> announced the news at the Bloomberg Screentime event in Los Angeles on Thursday (October 10).<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m really excited about it,\u201d she said. \u201cSo for next year, for 2025, we\u2019re doing a variety live talk show with John Mulaney<\/strong>, which I\u2019m super excited about. I mean, John Mulaney<\/strong>, hello. So we have a long relationship with John<\/strong>, obviously, and we have done his stand up specials and during Netflix is a Joke Festival he did a live talk show called Everybody\u2019s in LA.<\/em> and I was there at a couple of the tapings, and it was just so bold and original and fresh and then unpredictable. And I think it\u2019ll be really fun to get to do a live show with him.\u201d<\/p>\n While she said viewership for the live show wasn\u2019t huge, it was a learning exercise: \u201cNow, if we build a weekly live talk\/variety, what does that look like? I think the live will be interesting to see. Also, he\u2019s just wildly talented and really creative,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cI think we have to continue to be bold and take risks and swings. And I think it would be too easy and too safe to go, \u2018oh, well, talk hasn\u2019t worked, so let\u2019s not try this thing.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n The show will premiere in early 2025, and John <\/strong>will act as host, co-showrunner and executive producer through his Multiple Camera Productions. His previous Netflix stand-up specials include John Mulaney: Baby J<\/em> and Kid Gorgeous<\/em>, both of which won Emmys for the standup, as well as The Comeback Kid<\/em>.
