Ahead of Jen Shah<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s sentencing hearing, the Bravo star has requested a shorter prison sentence<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThe terrible business decisions I made and professional relationships I developed stemmed from some personal painful experiences that I was going through in my life,\u201d the\u00a0Real Housewives of Salt Lake City\u00a0<\/i><\/a>personality, 49, wrote in a four-page letter to the judge, which CNN<\/a> obtained on Saturday, December 17.<\/p>\n Shah\u2019s note \u2014 titled \u201cHow I got involved in the situation?\u201d \u2014 revealed that she is hoping to receive a prison sentence of three years. The Utah native pleaded guilty to fraud earlier this year and is facing a maximum prison sentence of 30 years<\/a> with five years of supervised release.<\/p>\n The entrepreneur and assistant Stuart Smith<\/strong><\/a> were arrested in March 2021 for their alleged roles in a telemarketing scheme<\/a> that defrauded hundreds of victims, many of whom were older than 55 years old. While both Shah and Smith initially pleaded not guilty on all counts, the Bravolebrity changed her plea in July.<\/p>\n \u201cIn 2012 to March 2021 in the Southern District of New York and elsewhere I agreed with others to commit wire fraud,\u201d Shah told Judge Sidney Stein<\/strong> during a hearing at the time<\/a>, in which she noted that she knew her actions were \u201cwrong and illegal,\u201d\u00a0according to\u00a0Good Morning America<\/i>. \u201cI knew this was wrong. I knew many people were harmed and I\u2019m so sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n The former marketing professional \u2014 whose sentencing was postponed until January 6, 2023<\/a> \u2014 opened up about the fraud trial throughout\u00a0RHOSLC\u00a0<\/i>season 3<\/a>, which premiered in September. While Shah continued to maintain her innocence<\/a> during the episodes, her future as a Housewife remains up in the air.<\/p>\n \u201cShe\u2019s being sentenced on December 15, so I don\u2019t know what to say to people who want her on the show,\u201d\u00a0RHOSLC<\/i>\u00a0executive producer Andy Cohen<\/strong> <\/a>exclusively told\u00a0Us Weekly<\/i>\u00a0in November<\/a>, shortly before Shah\u2019s hearing was rescheduled. \u201cI hope that she gets no jail time whatsoever and she can come right back \u2026 but I have a feeling that she\u2019s not going to be available to be on the show.\u201d<\/p>\n The 54-year-old talk show host added: \u201c[Her potential sentence is] a long time. Some people on Twitter were saying, \u2018We want Jen next season.\u2019 And I\u2019m like, \u2018OK, well, talk to the judge.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n While neither Bravo nor Cohen have addressed a potential\u00a0RHOSLC\u00a0<\/i>cast shakeup<\/a>, Shah did not attend the season 3 reunion when it was taped earlier this month.<\/p>\n \u201cOn September 14, 2022, I was informed by Bravo executives that I was not invited to attend the Season 3 reunion,\u201d the Shah Lashes founder alleged in a Friday, December 16, Instagram statement<\/a>. \u201cI was disappointed because I would have no venue to confront inaccuracies and\u00a0address my storyline with cast members.\u201d<\/p>\n Shah further alleged that the network changed their minds last month and invited her to share her perspective<\/a> at the New York City-filmed reunion special.<\/p>\n \u201cI was clear with Bravo that out of respect for the courts and a standing judicial order, I would not be in a position to discuss anything related to my legal case or sentencing,\u201d she claimed in her Friday note. \u201cBravo found this unsatisfactory and said they expected to discuss this \u2018storyline.\u2019 That expectation has no regard for me or my family\u2019s well-being; so under legal advice, I will not be attending reunion. I need to focus on the most important thing in my life \u2014 my family.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
