Stewart brought the role of JJ\u2019s (<strong>A. J. Cook<\/strong>) husband to life on the OG <em>Criminal Minds<\/em> show<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/news\/criminal-minds-evolution-season-2-everything-to-know-so-far\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> before coming over to the revival.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201c[S]adly, my days of playing Will LaMontagne Jr. are over,\u201d Stewart wrote via X in response to a question about his future on the show. \u201cYou guys have been the absolute best.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Criminal Minds<\/em>, which aired from 2005 to 2020, followed a group of profilers who work for the FBI\u2019s Behavioral Analysis Unit hunting down serial killers. Jack McCoy on <em>Law &amp; Order<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe time has come for me to move on and take Jack McCoy with me. There\u2019s sadness in leaving, but I\u2019m just too curious about what\u2019s next,\u201d Waterston said in a February statement. \u201cAn actor doesn\u2019t want to let himself get too comfortable. I\u2019m more grateful to you than I can say. Law &amp; Order\u2019s continuing and amazing long run, along with its astounding comeback, is all thanks to you and to Dick Wolf, but for whose vision, patience, perseverance, and unique combination of creative and business talents, none of this would have happened.
