One of Travis Kelce\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> best friends, Aric Jones<\/strong><\/a>, opened up about his time with Travis\u2019 girlfriend<\/a>, Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a>, at Kansas City Chiefs games.<\/p>\n \u201cTaylor\u2019s great. Taylor\u2019s her own woman,\u201d Aric, 32, told Page Six<\/em><\/a> in an interview published on Wednesday, October 2.<\/p>\n The Ohio native also added that Taylor, 34, was welcome to participate in the \u201ctheme nights\u201d that he and his friends have while watching games.<\/p>\n Aric continued, \u201cWe all look at Sundays as a fashion show. This is what we do: getting fresh and going to games. The thing to do in high school was go to the Heights games, because that\u2019s where you put on your best outfit and that\u2019s where the girls were. [And] now, 12 years into the NFL, we get fresh and we go watch Trav play. But at the end of the day, just having her there and having her presence there is awesome. She\u2019s there to cheer on her boyfriend and hang out with us and, to be quite honest, that\u2019s enough.\u201d<\/p>\n Swifties have likely gotten to know Aric over the past year as Taylor and Travis\u2019 relationship has been the source of all sorts of media attention, but that\u2019s not something that has ever bothered Aric.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m never going to downplay [the hype] or to say [the new attention] isn\u2019t the coolest stuff in the world,\u201d Aric explained to the outlet. \u201cBut, at the same time, all we got to do is be us. And the only thing that\u2019s changed is that there\u2019s a camera in the suite now. We stay loyal to ourselves. We stay loyal to our beginnings, stay true to our roots and who we are.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cI Can Do It With a Broken Heart\u201d singer has been a source of contention for some NFL fans<\/a>. Last season, several people complained about Taylor getting too much screen time during Chiefs games.<\/p>\n \u201cAt some point this is just a little ridiculous\u2026\u201d sports commentator Ari Meirov<\/strong> wrote via X<\/a> on October 2, 2023, alongside a screenshot of the NFL\u2019s official X account\u2019s banner photo, which featured the pop star.<\/p>\n The account had also changed their bio to read, \u201cChiefs are 2-0 as Swifties,\u201d something else Ari had a problem with.<\/p>\n \u201cNFL (and media) would be foolish not to bring it up. But there has to be a fine balance. The bio especially is just absurd,\u201d he wrote in a followup post.<\/p>\n
