Sabrina Carpenter<\/strong><\/a> likes to keep her relationship with Barry Keoghan<\/strong><\/a> as private as possible \u2014\u00a0but when it came to casting the male lead for her \u2018Please Please Please\u2019 video, there was only one choice.<\/p>\n

In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning<\/a>,<\/em> the singer, 25, explained that she picked Keoghan, 31, because he\u2019s such a great actor. \u201cI, genuinely \u2014 like, a not-even-biased opinion \u2014 I was like, \u201cWho\u2019s the greatest actor that I can find for this music video?\u201d,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd he was next to me in a chair. And he was so excited about it!\u201d<\/p>\n

In the video, Saltburn<\/em> star Keoghan plays Carpenter\u2019s criminal love interest; he gets arrested for robbing a woman at gunpoint, before Carpenter handcuffs him to a chair and tapes his mouth shut. \u201cHe likes the song, which is great,\u201d says Carpenter. \u201cHe does like my music a lot, yeah.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, it probably helps that signing up your boyfriend to star in your music video saves a lot of long, boring phone emails and Zoom calls between agents \u2014plus kissing them on camera has got to be way less awkward than making out with a stranger.<\/p>\n

The couple have been dating since 2023, but prefer to keep their relationship on the downlow \u2014 which is why it was such a surprise when the \u2018Please Please Please\u2019 video was released in June of this year, and showed the world just how good they look together.<\/p>\n

Although Carpenter has never given any juicy details of their relationship away, she has previously gushed about her man\u2019s acting talents. \u201cI don\u2019t want to sound biased, but I think he\u2019s one of the best actors of this generation,\u201d she told Variety<\/em>. \u201cSo getting to see him on the screen with my song as the soundtrack made the video better and all the more special.\u201d<\/p>\n
