Lamar Odom<\/b><\/a><\/span> has been open about his admiration<\/a> for ex-wife\u00a0Khlo\u00e9 Kardashian<\/b><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>. He spoke about their relationship while competing on season 3 of Celebrity Big Brother<\/i><\/a><\/span>, while he\u2019s also shared insight into their split in his January 2023 special, Lamar Odom: Sex, Drugs & Kardashians. So why did Khlo\u00e9 and Lamar split<\/a>?<\/span><\/p>\n The\u00a0Keeping Up With the Kardashians<\/i><\/a>\u00a0alum and former NBA player got married in September 2009, just one month after they met. They showed parts of their relationship on the Kardashian-Jenner\u2019s reality show and even starred in their own spinoff,\u00a0Khlo\u00e9 & Lamar<\/i>, which ran for two seasons in 2011 and 2012.<\/span><\/p>\n The California native has since said that she \u201cnever wanted\u201d to do the show<\/a> with her ex. \u201cHe sold it to\u00a0E!<\/i>, and I let it happen because I wanted him to be happy. I was the one who canceled it. It was way too much,\u201d she previously told\u00a0THR<\/i>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n While this appeared to be a point of contention in their marriage, the cracks in their relationship didn\u2019t publicly show until Lamar was arrested in 2013 for driving under the influence. The New York native pleaded no contest and was given three years of probation. He entered rehab shortly after the incident but checked out one day later.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n During their marriage, the couple also weathered multiple cheating rumors involving Lamar, allegations that Khlo\u00e9 and the athlete have since confirmed<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cLamar was so great at making me feel like I was the only one and I\u2019m this princess. I never speculated cheating \u2026 so I didn\u2019t know about cheating \u2026 until before the DUI,\u201d the Good American founder said during an interview with\u00a0Howard Stern<\/b>\u00a0in 2016. \u201cIt is humiliating on any level, but I found out he was cheating on me the majority of our marriage, I just didn\u2019t know.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The former Los Angeles Laker reflected on his infidelity as one of his biggest regrets. \u201cI would probably say it was the first time I decided to cheat on Khlo\u00e9,\u201d Lamar said on\u00a0The Morning Hustle<\/i>\u00a0in February 2021. \u201cI would rewind that back and take those things back and never let that happen.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n In December 2013, Khlo\u00e9 filed for divorce from Lamar. However, their proceedings were put on hold when the athlete was found unresponsive<\/a> at a brothel in Nevada following a near-fatal overdose in 2015. She shares her daughter, True Thompson, with ex-boyfriend\u00a0Tristan Thompson<\/b><\/a>, whom she dated on-and-off<\/a> from 2016 to 2021.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n As for Lamar, he was previously engaged to\u00a0Sabrina Parr<\/b><\/a>, but they called it quits<\/a> in 2020. He raised eyebrows on\u00a0Big Brother<\/i>, which began airing in February 2022, when he openly gushed about Khlo\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI miss her so much. I wish I could take that time back,\u201d he said on the reality show, calling her his \u201cone and only.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n More recently, Lamar spoke about their marriage during Lamar Odom: Sex, Drugs & Kardashians<\/em>, which premiered on January 2, 2023.<\/p>\n He admitted to being hesitant when asked if he wants to get back together with Khlo\u00e9. \u201cI would love to just take Khlo\u00e9 out to dinner,\u201d Lamar answered. \u201cI\u2019m too shy and I\u2019m a Scorpio and I hate being told no or being denied. He\u2019s f\u2014king going crazy. He\u2019s gonna kill himself,\u2019\u201d he revealed. \u201cThey took me to go get help that night.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite not being the best husband to the reality star, Lamar praised Khlo\u00e9 as a \u201cgood wife\u201d when it came to his drug problems. \u201cShe wasn\u2019t dismissive or [saying], \u2018Get away from me.\u2019 \u2026 She was protective and wanted to protect me even more. She [stood by me],\u201d he shared. \u201cBehind the scenes, I put her through some s\u2014t. Like s\u2014t that y\u2019all don\u2019t know. \u2026 The stories that y\u2019all don\u2019t know is, like, really crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n Lamar also shared his feelings about how Tristan\u2019s cheating impacted Khlo\u00e9. \u201cWhen she gets hurt, of course that hurts me,\u201d the father of three stated. \u201cI think what hurts me more is that it\u2019s not my place to protect her. I can only protect her if she says, \u2018Lamar, I need your help with this.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Despite their split, Lamar and Khlo\u00e9 have seemingly remained amicable over the years. In March 2024, the former NBA star opened up about his relationship with Khlo\u00e9. E!
