The \u2018Euphoria\u2019 actress, 28, competed for a chance to win the mirrorball trophy alongside her partner Val Chmerkovskiy in 2013 when she was aged only 16.<\/p>\n
She has now told Entertainment Weekly\u2019s \u2018Awardist\u2019 podcast about how she has never been able to bring herself to view the show since competing on the series: \u201cI have not watched \u2018Dancing With the Stars\u2019 since I was on. I didn\u2019t really watch \u2018Dancing With the Stars\u2019 before I was on \u2018Dancing With the Stars\u2019. <\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t think I was the target demographic. My grandma loves \u2018Dancing with the Stars\u2019 \u2013 that\u2019s her bag.\u201d<\/p>\n
She added: \u201cI also think it was a very stressful experience. I was like, \u2018I don\u2019t think I\u2019m gonna be watching this anymore\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nEven though Zendaya and pro dancer Val, 38, didn\u2019t bag the show\u2019s trophy, they gave consistent performances and came in second place \u2013 with the victory gong going to country singer Kellie Pickler, 38, and her 39-year-old pro partner Derek Hough.<\/p>\n
\nZendaya has since gone on to huge movie roles \u2013 including in the \u2018Dune\u2019 franchise.<\/p>\n
\nBut she is going to reprise her breakout role as drug-addled schoolgirl Rue in the third season of HBO\u2019s raunchy teen drama \u2018Euphoria\u2019 when it starts filming in January.<\/p>\n
\nThe show is set to pick up its characters after they have left high school, but Zendaya has said she doesn\u2019t know much else about the plot.<\/p>\n
\nShe added on the \u2018Awardist\u2019 show: \u201cI don’t actually know much about what is happening. I don\u2019t quite know exactly what the season is going to look like, but I do know that the time jump is happening and I know it\u2019s important because there\u2019s only so much high school drama you can deal with: \u2018And then she cheats on her boyfriend again!\u2019 <\/p>\n
\n\u201cTo me, at least, it is exciting, and it will be fascinating to see and understand these characters outside of the context of high school and how all the stuff that we saw when they were kids and they were in high school affects the kind of adulthood they have and who they become in a much bigger world. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019ll be interested to see what happens too.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
