General Hospital<\/i> <\/a>star Ron Hale<\/strong> died at his home in St George, South Carolina on August 27, according to an online obituary<\/a>. He was 78.<\/p>\n

A cause of death has not been revealed.<\/p>\n

The actor was best known for playing Mike Corbin from 1995 to 2010 on the ABC soap opera<\/a>. He also portrayed the character on Port Charles<\/i> from 1997 to 2000. Also among his credits is a role as Dr. Roger Coleridge on Ryan\u2019s Hope <\/i>from 1975 to 1989 and stint on Search for Tomorrow.<\/i><\/p>\n

During his career, Hale was nominated for two Daytime Emmy Awards for his role on Ryan\u2019s Hope.<\/i><\/p>\n

The end credits for the show featured Van Etten\u2019s name, and General Hospital script and breakdown writer Cathy LePard [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Taking to social media, Days of Our Lives<\/i> star Billy Warlock,<\/strong> who played Frankie Brady, shared a tribute to the late actor.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s with a heavy heart that we\u2019ve lost another great one,\u201d Warlock wrote via X<\/a> on Wednesday, October 3. \u201cMy dear friend Ron Hale has passed away. Ron was an amazing talent and an even better friend. I will miss you.\u201d<\/p>\n

General Hospital<\/i>\u2019s Jon Lindstrom<\/strong>, who plays Kevin Collins and Ryan Chamberlain on the soap, shared Warlock\u2019s post and offered his condolences.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy deep condolences Billy. I loved the guy,\u201d Lindstrom wrote via X<\/a> an hour after Warlock\u2019s post. \u201cHe was one I could count on to show up for a High Lonesome show or some other appearance. Always supportive. My fave memory was sitting w\/ him on a LA\/NY flight w\/ Richard Simmons in front of us. Yep, we all had a blast! R.I.P. #RonHale.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2010, Hale spoke to We Love Soaps<\/i> about stepping away from his General Hospital<\/i> gig to pursue other interests.<\/p>\n

\u201dIt\u2019s been 45 years since I unpacked my one suitcase in New York City and went to my first class at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts,\u201d he told the outlet at the time. \u201cI have been so blessed with my career.\u00a0 Nobody appreciates it more than I do.\u00a0 But that took a lot of hard work and dedication.\u201d<\/p>\n
