Melanie Lynskey<\/strong><\/a> loves her husband, Jason Ritter<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 but she doesn\u2019t love that her Yellowjackets<\/em> costars are just as infatuated.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was great. But I came back to work and everybody was like, \u2018Your husband\u2019s the nicest person in the world. He\u2019s our favorite,’\u201d Lynskey, 45, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> of Ritter\u2019s upcoming cameo on the Showtime series. \u201cAnd I think previously I felt like I was some people\u2019s favorite.\u201d<\/p>\n She teased that \u201cit was a little bit of a heartbreak,\u201d adding, \u201cEveryone was like, \u2018We still love you.\u2019 And I was like, \u2018I know he\u2019s nicer. He\u2019s nicer than me. He\u2019s easier to be around. He never complains.\u2019 So he became the new favorite. It was hard for me to give up the title, but I was also happy.\u201d<\/p>\n The Togetherness<\/em> alum and Ritter, 43,<\/a> met while filming The Big Ask<\/em> in 2013 and went on to work alongside each other in several other projects, including 2014\u2019s We\u2019ll Never Have Paris<\/em> and 2016\u2019s The Intervention<\/em>. Ritter would also appear in Lynskey\u2019s Candy<\/em> and The Last of Us<\/em> before being set to guest star in season 2 of Showtime\u2019s Yellowjackets<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve worked together a few times and it\u2019s always been really fun, but I mean, I\u2019ll do anything with him. He\u2019s so talented,\u201d Lynskey told Us<\/em>. \u201cI love his face. I love looking at his face.\u201d<\/p>\n The Sweet Home Alabama<\/em> actress<\/a> joked that his Yellowjackets<\/em> appearance would be one and done. \u201cNo, that\u2019s it. Thank you!\u201d she said. \u201cHe can\u2019t be the favorite! I just don\u2019t want the crew to like him more. That was my only issue was that everybody \u2014 nobody could stop talking about how kind he was and wonderful and easygoing. And at a certain point, I was like, \u2018I got it.\u2019 Yeah, I got it. He\u2019s great. He\u2019s the best.\u201d<\/p>\n Ritter, meanwhile, has been nothing but a proud spouse too.<\/a> \u201cAt the beginning of our relationship, I was seeing her do a lot of independent movies, and I could not wait until I would be able to see what she did in one thing or another,\u201d he told Us<\/em> in November 2022. \u201cBut it\u2019s just so exciting to see her doing the kinds of roles that she got to do in the independent movies. You know, interesting, gritty, cool, unexpected things, and see people respond to it the way they are. It\u2019s just amazing and well-deserved.\u201d<\/p>\n The pair, who welcomed a daughter in 2018,<\/a> have kept quiet on what year they got married, but they did celebrate their anniversary last month. Ritter told Us<\/em> that his marriage advice to others<\/a> would be to \u201cdo the best job you can at listening and being willing to grow and change.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe all want to be loved for who we are and that\u2019s absolutely important. But I think that can give you a reason to sort of lay back and relax. And I think what\u2019s incredible in a relationship is if you have a wonderful partner, they can help you grow and help you get to 2.0 if you\u2019re willing to do that. It\u2019s very unlikely that everything you are will match up a hundred percent with the other person. So where can you change, where can they change?\u201d the Parenthood<\/em> alum said at the time.<\/a> \u201cI think the stubbornness and the unwillingness to grow can be poisonous. And I think if you can do something that can make someone happier, do it.\u201d<\/p>\n Picking up a few chores doesn\u2019t hurt either. \u201cJust look around and see what you can do in the house,\u201d he added with a laugh. \u201cCan you clean something? Can you throw on a load of laundry? Can you do the dishes? What can you fold? Do things need to be folded? That kind of stuff goes a really long way in just maintaining a partnership of where things don\u2019t feel a little bit more spread out.\u201d<\/p>\n As of now, details on Ritter\u2019s Yellowjackets<\/em> guest spot have remained hush-hush.
