\t\t<\/p>\n Pauley Perrette<\/strong><\/a> is maintaining her retirement from acting.<\/p>\n The 55-year-old actress, most well known for her role on NCIS<\/strong><\/a><\/em> for 15 years, has not appeared on television since her 2020 CBS sitcom, Broke<\/em>.<\/p>\n In a new interview, Pauley<\/strong> opened up about why she has no plans to return to acting.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m not ungrateful for the benefits that it gave to me,\u201d she shared with Hello!<\/a><\/em>. \u201cBut I\u2019m a different person now, and I want to be here for it \u2013 the good and the bad and the painful. I want to be me all the time, and it takes a good amount of courage for me to say that to myself but it\u2019s authentically how I feel.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAt this point in my life I have this deep need to find authenticity in everything, and being an actor, especially at certain points in my life, was a great escape; it\u2019s like a drug because I didn\u2019t have to be me, I could be somebody else. My character didn\u2019t have all of the problems that I was having,\u201d Pauley<\/strong> added. \u201cIt\u2019s why I only watch documentaries, I want the truth. For me, going back to being an actor would be taking away from this life of true authenticity that I\u2019m living 100% of the time.\u201d<\/p>\n Pauley<\/strong> revealed about two years ago that she suffered a massive stroke<\/a> in 2021.<\/p>\n Her last public appearance was at the Los Angeles LGBT Center Gala<\/em><\/a> back in April 2023.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n
