Brian Cox<\/strong><\/a> is speaking out about that shocking twist from last night\u2019s episode of Succession<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n The 76-year-old actor portrayed the character of Logan Roy on the hit HBO series and his character went through quite a shocking turn of events for viewers.<\/p>\n MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!<\/strong><\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Logan Roy died on an airplane<\/a> while his kids, Kendall, Shiv, and Roman, were all at Connor\u2019s wedding on a boat in New York City.<\/p>\n Now, Brian <\/strong>is speaking out about the scene, learning about the news his character was dying so early on in season four, and more. Last night\u2019s episode was only the third in the season.<\/p>\n \u201c[The show\u2019s creator Jesse Armstrong<\/strong>,] He called me, and he said, \u2018Logan\u2019s going to die.\u2019 And I thought, \u2018Oh, that\u2019s fine.\u2019 I thought he would die in about Episode 7 or 8, but Episode 3, I thought \u2026 \u2018Well that\u2019s a bit early,\u2019\u201d Brian<\/strong> told the New York Times<\/a>, before adding, \u201cNot that I was bothered.\u201d<\/p>\n He was then asked what he thought of the abrupt ending to such an important character on the show.<\/p>\n Brian <\/strong>responded, \u201cWell, they had to end it somehow, and it was Jesse<\/strong>\u2019s choice. I\u2019ve said it before, and I\u2019ll say it again, the problem with a lot of television, particularly American television, is it goes past its sell-by date. And the great thing about Jesse and the writers is they wouldn\u2019t do that. It was difficult for them because it wasn\u2019t easy to bring this to an end. And I think Jesse found it sad \u2014 at the premier, somebody shouted out, \u2018Well, if it was so sad, why did you do it?\u2019 But I think there are lots of reasons for Jesse finishing it. And I applaud the fact that he did that. It was courageous because everybody loves the show. Always leave the party when it\u2019s at its height, not when it\u2019s going down.\u201d<\/p>\n He then added about the remaining episodes, \u201cIt does change the stakes. The main protagonist is gone. And the kids are having to deal with it, or not. I think it\u2019s going to be hard next week for a lot of the audience because they\u2019re going to miss Logan. And I don\u2019t think that\u2019s a bad thing \u2014 I think that\u2019s actually quite a good thing.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued, \u201cLogan was coming to a rest point anyway. He realized that his children were never going to be \u2014 he\u2019s got that great line when he says, \u2018I love you, but you\u2019re not serious people.\u2019 And I think that is so fundamental. The whole premise is really about entitlement and the rich and the fact that he\u2019s plowed this particular furrow. And the consequences of that plowing are these kids and how [expletive] up they are, not necessarily because of him, but because of the wealth. They all suffer from entitlement in one form or another.
