\nThe 33-year-old rapper \u2013 born Dequantes Devontay Lamar \u2013 was found dead on 5 September at his home in Atlanta, and the Fulton County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office has now declared the cause was from him overdosing on a cocktail of fentanyl, alprazolam, codeine and promethazine.<\/p>\n
\nHis death was ruled accidental according to the autopsy report on the musician, which also said Rich\u2019s body showed no signs of trauma.<\/p>\n
\nThe autopsy on his body had been scheduled for 6 September, and there had been speculation on social media the rapper had died from drug-related complications.<\/p>\n
\nThey were sparked by a post on X his friend Boosie Badazz, 41, shared at the time of his death, which said: \u201cJUST GOT WORD @RichHomieQuan JUST OD!!\u201d<\/p>\n
\nRich had also been open about his addiction battles, saying he was once taking ecstasy \u201cevery day\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nA 911 call also revealed how much Quan struggled in his final moments.<\/p>\n
\nThe Atlanta-born rapper\u2019s girlfriend, Amber Williams, told dispatchers in a clip from the call she \u201cdidn\u2019t feel a heartbeat\u201d on her boyfriend and that he was unconscious.<\/p>\n
\nShe told emergency alert handlers: \u201cWhen I turned him over, he kind of foamed at the mouth.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nParamedics were then rushed to the residence, and Rich was declared dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
\nIn the lead-up to his death, the \u2018Fly Rich\u2019 rapper shared a post that hinted he had been going through a difficult time.<\/p>\n
\nHe posted on 2 September on Instagram a slideshow of images of himself and a caption that said: \u201cVision clear even through the BS.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nSocial media tributes poured in after news of Rich\u2019s death broke, with podcaster Adam Grandmaison \u2013 known as Adam22 \u2013 saying on Instagram: \u201cRIP Rich Homie Quan.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nRapper Lil\u2019 Kim, 50, also shared a tribute on Instagram, saying: \u201cThis is the part of life that I\u2019ll never get used to, I\u2019m so heartbroken.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cNo one ever understood the dope ass friendship u and I had. u always pulled up for me no matter what. I\u2019ve learned in life love those who love you. Rest in Heaven my angel @richhomiequan.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
