Just days after Kristin Cavallari<\/strong><\/a> confirmed she and Mark Estes<\/strong> had broken up, the former reality star opened up about the reasons behind the split. On the Tuesday, October 1, episode of her \u201cLet\u2019s Be Honest\u201d podcast, Kristin explained that she ended the relationship because she knew it would be best for her ex in the future.<\/p>\n \u201cI broke up with Mark because I just know long-term it\u2019s not right,\u201d Kristin, 37, said, referring to her 13-year age gap with the 24-year-old TikTok star. \u201cIt\u2019s not because of love lost or something bad happened. No one cheated. No one was mean. No one did anything. And those breakups are always the hardest, I think, because it\u2019s almost easier if the guy does something that makes you hate him and it\u2019s like, \u2018F\u2013k that guy, I want him out of my life forever.\u2019 Mark didn\u2019t do anything.\u201d<\/p>\n News of Kristin and Mark\u2019s split broke on September 28, seven months after they started dating. The Laguna Beach<\/em> alum said Mark was the \u201cbest boyfriend<\/a> [she] ever had,\u201d but wanted him to \u201cexperience life\u201d since he\u2019s still so young.<\/p>\n Despite previously saying that the pair\u2019s age difference<\/a> wasn\u2019t an issue, Kristin now admitted, \u201cI started to feel the age a little bit just with life experience. I look back [to] when I was 24 and how much life has happened for me in between then. Those are crucial years. Those are formative years. That\u2019s when you find yourself. He needs to be able to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n
