WWE\u2019s Titus O\u2019Neil<\/strong> has no problem expressing his gratitude for Vince McMahon<\/strong> following the release of Netflix\u2019s docu series<\/a> about the scandal-ridden former CEO.<\/span><\/p>\n

O\u2019Neil \u2014 who now works as a global ambassador for WWE<\/a> after a lengthy in-ring career with the company \u2014 recently started watching Netflix\u2019s six-part series Mr. McMahon<\/i>, which premiered September 25 and details the legacy of McMahon, 79, who is currently under a federal probe following allegations of sex trafficking and sexual assault by a former employee.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAt the end of the day, what he built cannot be erased,\u201d O\u2019Neil, 47, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/i> Saturday, September 28, at the 2024 HollyRod Foundation<\/a> DesignCares Gala in Los Angeles. \u201cIt\u2019s sad that the situation came to what it came to, but I don\u2019t have any bad words for Vince.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

O\u2019Neil added, \u201cIt\u2019s very interesting to hear different perspectives on things, but at the end of the day, I\u2019ll forever be grateful for what Vince McMahon built, the platform that he built for so many people. He\u2019s human, just like anyone else.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

McMahon, meanwhile, has denied the allegations, though he stepped down from his position<\/a> with the company the day after the lawsuit was filed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cDo I condone some of the things that I\u2019ve read? No,\u201d O\u2019Neil continued. \u201cBut I don\u2019t know all the insides and outs of what\u2019s going on and what\u2019s not going on. All I know is that my life was changed because I had an opportunity to become a WWE superstar. So many people\u2019s lives were changed because they had an opportunity to work for that company.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

O\u2019Neil, who retired from in-ring action in 2021, said his interactions with McMahon have \u201calways been professional.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHave we had our differences of opinion on certain things? Absolutely,\u201d O\u2019Neil,\u00a0 who is father to sons TJ and Titus and daughter Leah, added. \u201cBut at the end of the day, he essentially helped me change my life. My kids are in college because of the opportunity that I have with WWE. They went to private school. All three of my children are in college on a scholarship doing well. I\u2019ve been able to provide a great life for my family. I\u2019ve been able to provide a great life for the people in the community.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

O\u2019Neil said he began watching Mr. McMahon<\/i> with a \u201cvery open mind\u201d and argued that much of the narrative \u2014 which involves a story about McMahon drafting a storyline where he would impregnate real-life daughter Stephanie McMahon<\/strong><\/a>, among other sordid tales \u2014 happened before he signed with WWE\u2019s developmental brand in 2009.<\/span><\/p>\n
