Celebrities are paying tribute to Kris Kristofferson<\/strong> after the country music star died at the age of 88.<\/p>\n

News broke on Sunday, September 29, that Kristofferson died the previous day<\/a> in his home. \u201cWe\u2019re all so blessed for our time with him,\u201d his family wrote in a statement on Sunday. \u201cThank you for loving him all these many years, and when you see a rainbow, know he\u2019s smiling down at us all.\u201d<\/p>\n

Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum CEO Kyle Young<\/strong> also honored Kristofferson via social media on Sunday. \u201cKris Kristofferson believed creativity is God-given, and those who ignore such a gift are doomed to unhappiness,\u201d the statement read. \u201cHe preached that a life of the mind gives voice to the soul, and his work gave voice not only to his soul but to ours. He leaves a resounding legacy.\u201d<\/p>\n

The A Star is Born<\/em> actress shared some heartfelt words<\/a> via Instagram on Sunday night, labeling Kristofferson \u201csomething special.\u201d Streisand captioned a set of photos that paid tribute to her former costar, \u201cThe first time I saw Kris performing at the Troubadour club in L.A. I knew he was something special. Barefoot and strumming his guitar, he seemed like the perfect choice for a script I was developing, which eventually became A Star Is Born<\/em>. In the movie, Kris and I sang the song I\u2019d written for the film\u2019s main love theme, \u201cEvergreen.\u201d<\/p>\n

The post continued, \u201cFor my latest concert in 2019 at London\u2019s Hyde Park, I asked Kris to join me on-stage to sing our other A Star Is Born<\/em> duet, \u201cLost Inside Of You.\u201d He was as charming as ever, and the audience showered him with applause. It was a joy seeing him receive the recognition and love he so richly deserved.\u201d<\/p>\n
