Kola Bokinni would love to return to ‘Ted Lasso’ if the show is revived<\/p>\n
The 32-year-old actor became a household name playing team captain Isaac McAdoo in the Apple TV+ comedy drama and although the show was meant to end for good after last year\u2019s third season, it was reported last month that producers are keen to bring it back, and Kola is open to reprising his part.<\/p>\n
He told The Big Issue magazine: \u201cWhatever happens, I\u2019ll be there for them, because they were there for me.\u201d<\/p>\n
While Kola acknowledged the programme has \u201cdone amazing things for [his] life\u201d, he was initially hesitant about taking the role.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cI was like, it\u2019s a show about this American guy who comes over and tells us how to play football? But I\u2019ve been playing football my whole life.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nDeadline recently reported that Warner Bros. Television has been considering a fourth season.<\/p>\n
\nThe studio has picked up the options on Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein and Jeremy Swift, the three original cast members who were contracted under UK acting union Equity.<\/p>\n
\nIt\u2019s expected to start reaching out to those contracted under SAG-AFTRA, including co-creators\/executive producers Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hut, along with Juno Temple and others.<\/p>\n
\nThere is some confusion over whether Phil Dunster, who played likeable rogue Jamie Tart, will appear as he is currently working on both Prime Video\u2019s ‘The Devil\u2019s Hour’ and Apple\u2019s ‘Surface’.<\/p>\n
\nIf contract negotiations with the actors are successful, early preparations are also being made to open a writers room with an option for an early 2025 start.<\/p>\n
\nCo-creator Bill Lawrence previously insisted that new episodes of ‘Ted Lasso’ would be contingent on Sudeikis’ participation.<\/p>\n
\nHe told Collider: “Whatever Jason feels like doing and whatever his decision is, we\u2019re all down with it. Not only is he the star, he\u2019s the head writer, and he\u2019s also the dude whose life just has to be completely overhauled and moved to a foreign country with young children.<\/p>\n
\n“It\u2019s a big deal. So, as a fan, if someone\u2019s like, \u2018Oh, it\u2019s gonna happen again,\u2019 I\u2019ll go nuts. As a partner, I\u2019m down for whatever he wants to do.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
