The actress, 48, has racked up film credits from \u2018Titanic\u2019 to her new film \u2018Lee\u2019 and banked an estimated fortune of \u00a371 million, but has now said she thinks she is an \u201cunlikely\u201d success story due to her humble start in life.<\/p>\n
She told People: \u201cI was kind of a little street urchin who got lucky, really. I\u2019m a very unlikely success story, to be quite honest with you. <\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t come from money. There isn\u2019t a great pedigree of performers behind me. I wasn’t trained.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kate was raised with her three sisters in a working-class household in England by her actor father Roger, who had to also take odd jobs to survive, and her waitress and nanny mother Sandra.<\/p>\n
\nKate added: \u201cThe pride I feel is enormous in the things that I have been able to do. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cAnd to be able to say that I\u2019m proud of myself matters, because I think that that\u2019s something else I hope to put out there \u2013 that women should be able to stand with pride and acknowledge that and not feel like they are bigging themselves up.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt\u2019s a self-acceptance and an awareness of doing something that is challenging and that feels impactful and takes effort like you wouldn\u2019t believe.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cSo, yeah, if you\u2019d told the 18-year-old me that I would\u2019ve had this career up till now and still getting to do the thing that I love, I probably wouldn\u2019t have believed you.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nKate also recently admitted she \u201cknows\u201d undergoing testosterone replacement therapy can boost sex drive.<\/p>\n
\nThe mother-of-three, who has been married to her 46-year-old husband Edward Abel Smith \u2013 formally known as Ned Rock \u2018n\u2019 Roll \u2013 for 12 years, made the admission while hosting a mini-agony aunt session on the \u2018How to Fail\u2019 podcast.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cA lot of people don\u2019t know this but women have testosterone in their body, (and) when it runs out, like eggs, it\u2019s gone, and once it\u2019s gone you have to replace it and that is something that can be done and you\u2019ll feel sexy again\u2026 I know.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nKate spoke out on the treatment after a listener had asked for help to rediscover their sex drive, with the actress going on to advise them: \u201cI would suggest for your physical self, have your thyroid levels checked and your testosterone levels checked well because those things could have a direct impact on how you\u2019re actually feeling.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt\u2019s not your fault \u2013 our bodies are weird and they behave in strange ways especially as we get older.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cSo there could be a dip in those hormonal levels for you that is contributing much more than you think to how you\u2019re feeling about having sex with your boyfriend, so I would definitely go ahead and do that.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
