Golf might often be described as a lonely game, but Collin Morikawa<\/strong> has found a brotherhood with fellow American golfers Scottie Scheffler<\/strong><\/a> and Xander Schauffele<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly<\/i> ahead of the 2024 Presidents Cup \u2014 which teed off Thursday, September 26, from The Royal Montreal Golf Club in Montreal, Quebec, Canada \u2014 Morikawa, 27, spoke fondly of the bonds he\u2019s formed with his United States teammates and their families.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve known Scottie for more than 12 years,\u201d Morikawa said. \u201cXander and I were pretty close when he was out in Vegas for a couple of years. We played a lot of golf. It\u2019s just nice to be around them and have all the wives together.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Colli married wife Katherine Morikawa<\/strong> in November 2022. Schauffele, 30, married wife Maya Lowe<\/strong><\/a> in July 2021 and Scheffler, 28, married wife Meredith Scheffler<\/strong><\/a> in December 2020, before the couple welcomed their first child<\/a>, son Bennett, in May of this year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThey found a fairway to heaven!\u00a0Professional golfer Collin Morikawa has a special support system in his wife, Katherine Zhu. \u201cShe\u2019s been amazing. I\u2019m so lucky to have her,\u201d Morikawa gushed during an August 2020 interview with the Golf Channel\u2019s \u201cGolf Central\u201d broadcast. \u201cKat\u2019s been by my side through it all. She would hate me if [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

More than a support system for their husbands, Collin joked that the players\u2019 wives are good at keeping them humble.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the girls are around, there\u2019s zero golf talk,\u201d he said. \u201cThey couldn\u2019t care less and, honestly, we couldn\u2019t care less about talking golf around the girls.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

While Katherine might not be keen on hearing about her husband\u2019s day on the course, Collin gushed about what an important source of stability she\u2019s been since the two began dating at the University of California, Berkeley.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I first turned pro [in 2019], she was out there traveling with me and that\u2019s what kept me grounded,\u201d he recalled. \u201cThat was a big turning point, just having someone there. She\u2019s been by my side even before all this professional golf stuff. She works so hard at the things she puts her mind to and honestly it\u2019s just very motivating to have someone like that by my side.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Katherine is quite the athlete herself, completing her first half marathon in November. When she completed another one in Las Vegas this February, Collin was there by her side<\/a> to celebrate.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s huge. I should give her way more credit than I do and I feel like I thank her a lot,\u201d the golfer said. \u201cShe is awesome. She is the rock of everything.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tScottie Scheffler has given credit to wife Meredith Scheffler throughout his golf career. The couple met when they were teenagers attending Highland Park High School in Texas and then exchanged vows in December 2020. In April 2022, Meredith caddied for her husband during the Par 3 Contest ahead of the 86th Masters Tournament at Augusta [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In addition to spending quality time with the Schefflers and Schauffeles, Collin said the Presidents Cup provides an opportunity to start forming other bonds with members of the America squad.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
