Rapper Fatman Scoop<\/strong>\u2019s cause of death has been revealed.<\/p>\n

The Connecticut medical examiner\u2019s office confirmed to ABC News<\/a> on Wednesday, September 25, that Fatman Scoop (real name Isaac Freeman III) died of heart disease.<\/p>\n

News broke last month that the musician died at the age of 56<\/a> hours after he collapsed in the middle of a concert in Connecticut. He was taken to a hospital after CPR was administered on the stage.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with profound sadness and very heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of the legendary and iconic Fatman Scoop. Last night, the world lost a radiant soul, a beacon of light on the stage and in life,\u201d a statement from the late rapper\u2019s family read on August 31. \u201cFatman Scoop was not just a world-class performer, he was a father, brother, uncle and a friend. He was the laughter in our lives, a constant source of support, unwavering strength and courage.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tHollywood mourned many celebrities in 2024. Speed Racer star Christian Oliver (born Christian Klepser) died at the age of 51 during a fatal plane crash on January 5. Oliver was traveling home from a Caribbean vacation with his two daughters \u2014 Madita and Annik, whom he shared with wife Jessica Klepser \u2014 on January 4. [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The statement continued, \u201cAs we mourn the loss of Fatman Scoop, we also celebrate this remarkable life and the countless lives he touched. Fatman Scoop\u2019s legacy is of love and brightness, it will reside in our hearts and memories forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fatman Scoop was best known for his guest spots on Missy Elliott<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cLose Control\u201d and Mariah Carey<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cI Like That.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFatman Scoop was known to the world as the undisputed voice of the club,\u201d his family concluded. \u201cHis music made us dance and embrace life with positivity. His joy was infectious and the generosity he extended to all will be deeply missed but never forgotten.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fatman Scoop is survived by his two children, whom he shared with a past partner.<\/p>\n
