Jack Antonoff<\/strong><\/a> is not above lying to Adam Sandler<\/strong><\/a> to support his wife, Margaret Qualley<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Qualley, 29, confirmed on the Tuesday, September 24, episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/em><\/a> that she has a role in Sandler\u2019s highly anticipated Happy Gilmore 2<\/em> and that her music producer husband helped her land the part.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was the best thing that ever happened to me,\u201d the Substance<\/em><\/a> actress gushed, explaining that she is a huge fan of the original Happy Gilmore<\/em><\/a> released in 1996. \u201cIt\u2019s a tiny part. I\u2019m essentially deep background, but I can die happy now!\u201d<\/p>\n

Qualley said that Happy Gilmore<\/em> is her favorite movie and so when the upcoming sequel was announced, she asked her agents to help her land a part.<\/p>\n

Netflix announced in May 2024 that there would be a Happy Gilmore 2, with Adam Sandler reprising his role. The cult classic released in 1996, followed the story of an unsuccessful ice hockey player [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI emailed my agents right away,\u201d said the actress. \u201cI said, \u2018Anything it takes. No part is too small. I\u2019ve got to be a part of this.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Sandler, 58, then sent a text message to Antonoff inquiring about Qualley\u2019s golf skills. (The original movie follows a hockey player with rage issues who discovers he has a talent for golf.)<\/p>\n

\u201cJacko. It\u2019s Sandler. Does your wife golf at all?\u201d read a screenshot that host Jimmy Fallon<\/strong> held up of the text exchange.<\/p>\n

Antonoff responded, \u201cYeah, she\u2019s actually good!\u201d<\/p>\n

Sandler went on to say that he was eyeing Qualley for a role in the comedy sequel, writing back, \u201cMight bug her for a couple of days \u2026 funny thing. She\u2019d be awesome.\u201d<\/p>\n

After Fallon read out the messages between her husband and Sandler, Qualley admitted, \u201cI can\u2019t golf.\u201d<\/p>\n
