Shailene Woodley has opened up about her troubles<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old actress believes that her debilitating health journey has actually helped her to grow on a personal level.<\/p>\n

The movie star – who previously confessed to being “very sick” while filming the ‘Divergent’ film franchise – said on the ‘She MD’ podcast: “It forced me to take a really deep look and become introspective.<\/p>\n

“That was the path for me, alongside the physical healing – was acknowledging the mental side of the healing process for myself. Which involved looking at real traumas and real PTSD that I had experienced at various times in my life – without going into detail about what they were – they definitely took a toll on my body.”<\/p>\n

Shailene insisted that she’s now doing much better, describing herself as “very healthy”.<\/p>\n

\nShe said: “My hormones are so balanced. Everything is pumping the way that it should. I am very healthy. I\u2019m so happy to be able to say that.”<\/p>\n

\nShailene previously confessed that her health issues were “pretty debilitating” – although she refused to specify the issue she was dealing with.<\/p>\n

\nThe actress also revealed that the situation harmed her film career, as she forced to reject a series of opportunities while she focused on her recovery.<\/p>\n

\nShe told The Hollywood Reporter: “I said no to a lot of projects, not because I wanted to but because I physically couldn\u2019t participate in them.<\/p>\n

\n“And I definitely suffered a lot more than I had to because I didn\u2019t take care of myself. The self-inflicted pressure of not wanting to be helped or taken care of created more physical unrest throughout those years.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
