I told [director] Hiro [Murai]<\/strong> the idea, and he\u2019s like, \u2018I really want to do that.\u2019\u2026 The idea for the song started as a joke,\u201d he said to GQ<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cTo be completely honest, \u2018This is America\u2019 \u2014 that was all we had was that line. It started as a Drake<\/strong> diss, to be honest, as like a funny way of doing it. But then I was like, this s\u2013t sounds kind of hard though. So I was like, let me play with it,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n His feud with Drake <\/strong>started in 2014 when he said<\/a> during an Australian gig this his rapper alter ego was better than Drake<\/strong>, Kendrick Lamar<\/strong><\/a> and ScHoolboy Q<\/strong> combined.
