Kia will provide free NACS adapters to people who got their EV9 or EV6 after September 4th, 2024, but all existing owners will have to pay an as-yet unspecified amount.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">The free adapters will start shipping to customers in early 2025, while current owners can purchase the adapter at an authorized Kia dealer \u201cat a later date.\u201d GM similarly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/9\/18\/24247122\/gm-ev-tesla-supercharger-access-adapter-price\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced last week<\/a> that all its EV customers would have to pay $225 for the NACS adapter to add Tesla Supercharger access.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">In anticipation of future Kia EV models with native Tesla connectors, the automaker will also soon sell adapters to go the opposite direction so they can still use CCS-based DC fast chargers and level 2 AC chargers.
