Kelly Cutrone<\/strong> has a bone to pick with Maks Chmerkovskiy<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The famed fashion publicist, who is friends with Anna Delvey<\/strong><\/a>, took to her Instagram Stories on Monday, September 23, to slam Chmerkovskiy\u2019s criticism<\/a> of Delvey\u2019s Dancing With the Stars <\/i>debut. Cutrone posted a screenshot of a TMZ headline that quoted Chmerkovskiy calling Delvey a \u201cs\u2014-y dancer.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI thought this said SEXY!!!\u201d the 58-year-old wrote, tagging Chmerkovskiy. \u201cDid you mean Sassy or are you so pathetic that you cannot get on a show you have to attack someone? No one cares about your opinion.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

She added, \u201cDance yourself into a new reality.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tEver since its debut, Dancing With the Stars has made headlines \u2014 sometimes for its eyebrow-raising casting. One of the most controversial decisions by ABC came ahead of season 28 in summer 2019 when Sean Spicer was announced as part of the cast. At the time, many celebrities reacted to the news about the former [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Earlier Monday, Chmerkovskiy, 44, a former DWTS<\/i> pro, appeared on the \u201cTMZ Podcast\u201d and denounced his ABC alma mater for casting Delvey, 33, a convicted felon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTo me, [Delvey\u2019s] job was a professional liar,\u201d he told the outlet, adding, \u201cYou\u2019re gonna bring that person [on stage] and say, \u2018Here\u2019s a platform that a lot of people waited their entire actual career to be a part of,\u2019 to also get a moment of a personal story [where they] can say, \u2018This is who I actually am.\u2019 Will I believe anything this lady says? Absolutely not.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

With blunt honesty, he judged Delvey\u2019s routine as \u201cnot great\u201d and \u201cvery kind of standoffish.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYou can blame the nerves and say, \u2018Hey, everybody\u2019s human and this person is not used to that stage.\u2019 Bulls\u2014,\u201d he said. \u201cHold on a second \u2014 didn\u2019t she con people into believing she was, like, fully fashion this and special like that? And that takes a lot of guts. It takes a lot of self-control to present yourself a certain way, even if you\u2019re so nervous. I don\u2019t buy this \u2018she was nervous\u2019 stuff. She\u2019s a s\u2014-y dancer, and [her] personality is not really going to help her in this competition.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tIt\u2019s officially New York Fashion Week, which means fabulous looks, new trends and hundreds of celebrity sightings. Take the Alice + Olivia spring\/summer 2025 show, for example, which Paris Jackson, Olivia Culpo, Paris Hilton, Kathy Hilton, Nicky Hilton, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and more all attended. Jackson, for her part, teamed a forest green dress with nude [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Delvey was famously arrested in 2017 and indicted on multiple counts of grand larceny and misdemeanor theft. She was released from prison on parole in 2021 and was put under house arrest one year later after being taken into custody for overstaying her visa.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Delvey\u2019s DWTS<\/i> partner, Ezra Sosa<\/strong>, defended her Monday<\/span><\/a>, saying, \u201cI know what she did was really controversial and was not right, and I can never justify that for her and for anyone in her life. It\u2019s really hard for me because this person that I truly am just falling in love with every day in rehearsal, isn\u2019t the person that everyone sees in the media. No one deserves the amount of hate that she\u2019s getting right now. She deserves a second chance.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Cutrone, who appeared as a tough-talking mentor on MTV\u2019s The Hills<\/i> and The City<\/i>, has taken Delvey under her wing, inviting her to live in her home outside of New York City. This month, they produced several shows<\/a> for New York Fashion Week.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAnna looked up to Kelly as the person she wanted to be when she came to New York, and as soon as Kelly met Anna, she basically fell in love with her,\u201d fashion designer Shao Yang <\/b>recently told Vanity Fair<\/i><\/span><\/a>. \u201cI think having them two together is, like, literally a powerhouse.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
