Kristen Bell<\/strong><\/a> is defending her husband, Dax Shepard<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s interesting second date tactic of stealing gum from her mouth and chewing it.<\/p>\n

The Nobody Wants This<\/em> actress, 44, shared the story during her Monday, September 23, appearance on The View<\/em><\/a> after cohost Sunny Hostin<\/strong> asked her about it.<\/p>\n

\u201cDax also said that on your second meeting, he took the gum that you had been chewing and put it in his own mouth,\u201d Hostin, 55, began, noting that the move \u201cdivided the hosts\u201d and audience. \u201cDid that gross you out at the time or is it hot?\u201d<\/p>\n

Bell replied, \u201cLet me start with the fact that, that\u2019s not meant to create a divide. He didn\u2019t ask you to take his gum, did he? OK, then there really shouldn\u2019t be a divide about this. It was an experience we had.\u201d<\/p>\n

During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show<\/em> earlier this month, Shepard set the record straight about rumors that he and Bell are swingers<\/a> after fellow celebs jokingly questioned why they weren\u2019t invited to their \u201cswing parties.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was the most exciting tabloid story that we were Hollywood swingers,\u201d the Parenthood alum told host Drew Barrymore<\/strong>. \u201cWe got a lot of texts from other friends of ours saying, \u2018How could you not have invited me to the swinger party? I mean, they were teasing, of course, because they know us and they know we\u2019re not hosting swinger parties.\u201d<\/p>\n

The duo started dating in 2007, got engaged in 2009 and tied the knot in 2013. Together they share daughters Lincoln, 11, and Delta, 9.<\/p>\n
