The actor, 62, and his partner Anastasia Traina were on their way home in Brooklyn, New York, on 29 June when they were struck in a head-on collision by the suspect in the police chase.<\/p>\n
Scott has now told Page Six about the incident: \u201cWe thought we were dead. My wife\u2019s arm is all messed up. <\/p>\n
\u201cI have a broken sternum, which is supposed to be never-healing. It\u2019s like called a non-union break, and it\u2019s never going to heal.\u201d<\/p>\n
Police pulled over a male driver for a routine traffic stop in Astoria, Queens, before the chase that left Scott and his wife injured.<\/p>\n
\nThe suspect suddenly took off with cops pursuing him and sped into Greenpoint, Brooklyn, which is where he collided with Scott\u2019s car \u2013 with the suspect\u2019s vehicle bursting into flames before he ran off and exchanged gunfire with the police.<\/p>\n
\nIt is still unclear if the fugitive was ever caught, and after the accident Scott posted photos of himself in hospital and his mangled car.<\/p>\n
\nHe said in a caption about the incident it woke him up to the \u201cfragility of us\u201d and \u201chow life can change in an instant\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nScott added online in a post about his and his wife\u2019s recovery: \u201cWith broken bones, bruised bodies, lots of drugs, and the impact of a random act of aggression that hit us we venture on. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019m very p***** my existence right now is about healing but at the same time truly grateful @afunnybunnypicture and I are both here to experience the love and incredible generosity of friends and family.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nScott, who played lead character Lorelai Gilmore\u2019s love interest Max Medina on \u2018Gilmore Girls\u2019 from 2000 to 2003, is currently starring in \u2018The Penguin\u2019 spin-off show from 2022\u2019s \u2018The Batman\u2019 film, which is streaming on Max and stars Colin Farrell, 48, as villain Oz Cobb \u2013 aka The Penguin \u2013 as he battles to seize control of Gotham\u2019s organised crime.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
