Don Johnson thinks a good marriage will keep you young<\/p>\n

The 74-year-old actor wed his wife Kelley Phleger, 56, in 1999, and has now emphasised finding the right partner is the key to avoiding draining stress.<\/p>\n

He told People magazine: \u201cA bad marriage will age you!\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u2018Miami Vice\u2019 actor – who has 41-year-old Jesse with his former partner Patti D\u2019Arbanville, 34-year-old Dakota and his 39-year-old stepson Alexander Bauer with his ex-wife Melanie Griffith<\/a>, and Atherton, 24, Jasper, 22, and 18-year-old Deacon with Kelly – heaped praise onto his \u201camazing\u201d spouse, and said his six children also played a big part in keeping him in such good shape.<\/p>\n

He joked: \u201cKeep moving. How else do you think I have six kids? That I can name anyway.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nDon provided an update on his children and said they were \u201cdoing alright\u201d.<\/p>\n

\nHe added: \u201cThey\u2019re all out of the house, but they always come back.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cSome of them never leave! And honestly, you don\u2019t want them to leave. At least I don\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nThe \u2018Knives Out\u2019 star shared that spending time with his family was far more important to him than working, and so would often try to choose smaller roles to prioritise his loved ones.<\/p>\n

\nHe explained: \u201cWork-life balance is an interesting thing as an actor because movies eat your life. Television shows eat your life.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cLuckily, I\u2019m at a place where I can pick and choose roles, and sometimes I often prefer the supporting role because I still get joy out of what I do, but I don\u2019t always want to work those long hours and be away from my family.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nLooking back at his time in the spotlight, Don admitted he found his fame to be overbearing, and pondered whether his struggles to being a public figure were similar to that of Elvis Presley’s.<\/p>\n

\nHe lamented: \u201cFor a long time, I couldn\u2019t even go anywhere.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cI had to isolate. They know where you are. We had security 24\/7.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cOne day, I reflected on Elvis and thought, \u2018Isn\u2019t this kind of the way Elvis lived and died?\u2019 Not that I\u2019m comparing myself to Elvis, but in terms of him not being able to have a personal life.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cSo, I learned to manage it and vowed not to let it imprison me.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
