Demi Lovato<\/a>, 32, on the singer\u2019s documentary \u2018Child Star\u2019 during a discussion about their gruelling work schedules: \u201cPeople are going to milk all of that light out of you because, \u2018You\u2019re young and you still have energy\u2019.<\/p>\n\u201cBut you do not. You\u2019re still human.\u201d<\/p>\n
Raven added about her family making it clear she had to work for a living from an early age: \u201cI knew it was work immediately. My parents made sure that I understood that this was a job. I get paid for it. You show up professionally.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI knew at three how much I was making and I understood it\u2019s a job. If you lose it, you don\u2019t make that money.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nShe added about how she has navigated handling her money with her relatives:<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWe call it a family business. Everybody has a job within the family business, so nobody likes to say one person\u2019s the breadwinner or not… read through those lines.<\/p>\n
\n\u201c(Many) children \u2013 young kids \u2013 are performing for their parent. They’re performing for their parents\u2019 love and affection and their, \u2018Good job!\u2019 <\/p>\n
\n\u201cAnd yes, it\u2019s a lot of money \u2013 it\u2019s a lot of money. And money does crazy s***.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nDemi told Raven about her experience of the showbiz grind: \u201cI didn\u2019t know you could take time off because no one told me.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAt one point, I played 70 shows in 90 days. I was going to have two nights off and then when push came to shove, they were like, \u2018We need those two days of rehearsals for the movie.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
\nBut Raven stressed how lucky she was to be part of history by appearing in \u2018The Cosby Show\u2019.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201c\u2018The Cosby Show\u2019 was the No1 television show in America, especially with an African American cast and so influential within the fabric of society. <\/p>\n
\n\u201c(For) a young girl from Atlanta, Georgia\u2026 that\u2019s the dream of so many black people at that time.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cFrom the age of 16 months, I knew that my job was to entertain other people. That\u2019s a mind thing in itself.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
