The Academy Award-winning actors first graced the big screen together in 2001\u2019s remake of Ocean\u2019s Eleven, which also stars Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, Casey Affleck, Bernie Mac and more. \u201cI\u2019m going to be [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\">While posing as the former President was one thing, Clooney noted that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrity-news\/news\/george-and-amal-clooney-double-date-with-brad-pitt-and-ines-de-ramon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Brad Pitt<\/a> stationary was especially \u201cbrutal,\u201d recalling one prank that involved Pitt and Cruise.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Clooney confessed to tricking Cruise into believing Pitt was angling to make a sequel to their 1994 movie, <i>Interview with the Vampire. <\/i>In a further funny twist, Clooney, writing as Pitt, added that he wanted to take over the character Cruise portrayed, Lestat de Lioncourt. (Pitt, for his part, portrayed vampire Louis de Point du Lac.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cI sent it to Tom Cruise, saying they want to do [<i>Interview with the Vampire 2<\/i>], but this time Brad wants to play Lestat,\u201d Clooney said with a grin.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"George Clooney on NY Times Op-Ed on Biden, Insults from Trump, Film with Brad Pitt &amp; Pulling Pranks\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QTgHEtlSKI0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Kimmel then noted that Pitt had brought up the prank earlier that day, revealing that Cruise was more than willing to swap roles for another installment of the cult classic. \u201cBrad this afternoon said that Tom called him and said, \u2018Yeah, it\u2019s cool, you can play Lestat, that\u2019s fine, I\u2019m OK with that,\u2019 and he was like, \u2018What are you talking about?\u2019\u201d Kimmel recalled, laughing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Pitt and Cruise starred in the gothic horror film, which is based on <strong>Anne Rice\u2019<\/strong>s 1976 novel of the same name, alongside <strong>Kristen Dunst.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Rice, who died in 2021 aged 80, initially, had wanted Pitt and Cruise to swap roles, claiming Cruise\u2019s casting was \u201cbizarre.\u201d \u201cI tried for a long time to tell them that they should just reverse these roles \u2014 have Brad Pitt play Lestat and have Tom Cruise play Louis. Of course, they don\u2019t listen to me,\u201d she told the <em>Los Angeles Times<\/em> in 1993, saying Cruise was no more Lestat than \u201cEdward G.
