Vinny Guadagnino<\/strong><\/a> has his own chapter in Mike \u201cThe Situation\u201d Sorrentino<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s tell-all book, but that doesn\u2019t mean he approved of every story in it.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe could have probably left out a couple details. I was like, \u2018Is this necessary?\u2019\u201d Vinny, 36, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> of Mike\u2019s book while promoting the new season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation<\/em><\/a>. \u201cHe just gave the juicy scoop of everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mike, 42, released his tell-all, Reality Check: Making the Best of The Situation<\/em><\/a>, in November 2023. He detailed his ups and downs with addiction<\/a> and the darker side of his time on Jersey Shore<\/em>. Mike also revealed that MTV never aired \u201ca devil\u2019s threesome in Miami with Vinny and a girl we brought home from the club\u201d and an orgy with Vinny and Paul \u201cDJ Pauly D\u201d DelVecchio<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Despite airing some of Vinny\u2019s dirty laundry<\/a> in the book, Vinny told Us<\/em> that Mike is \u201can inspiration\u201d after overcoming his drug and alcohol problems.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe book I\u2019m sure is very helpful to people that are dealing with sobriety and stuff like that,\u201d Vinny explained. \u201cOne of the things that Mike said to me once that kind of didn\u2019t really click in my head is, \u2018Most people that go through that don\u2019t make it out to the other side.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

That resonated with Vinny<\/a>, who noted that Mike is in a \u201ctiny minority\u201d that made it through to the other side.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s why I wrote the book, because I made it to the other side<\/a>,\u201d Mike told Us<\/em> during a joint interview. \u201cI was at nine years of sobriety going on three kids. And I was like, when it\u2019s time, tell the story [of] The Situation that people didn\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMTV shook up reality TV \u2014 and introduced fans to the GTL lifestyle (a.k.a. gym, tan, laundry) \u2014 in 2009 with the premiere of Jersey Shore. The series quickly made household names out of stars Nicole \u201cSnooki\u201d Polizzi, Vinny Guadagnino, Jenni \u201cJWoww\u201d Farley, Angelina Pivarnick, Paul \u201cDJ Pauly D\u201d Delvecchio, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Samantha \u201cSammi Sweetheart\u201d [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Looking back, both Mike and Vinny are surprised that they were able to survive the early days of Jersey Shore<\/em><\/a> when they were partying nonstop.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of my friends, they say, if I was in your position in my early twenties, they\u2019re like, I would be dead because of all of the stuff that we went through back then,\u201d Vinny said, suggesting that anyone struggling now should \u201cjust have therapy\u201d to make sure \u201cyou\u2019re processing it all the right way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vinny \u2014 who is taking on the TCS New York City Marathon on November 3, by New York Road Runners \u2014\u00a0recommended that up-and-coming stars \u201csurround yourself with good real people, not just Hollywood leeches and stuff like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tWhen Jersey Shore premiered on MTV in 2009, viewers got to watch the personal lives of eight housemates from New Jersey \u2014 and many fans are still keeping up with the group. Sammi \u201cSweetheart\u201d Giancola and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro\u2018s on and off relationship quickly became a largestory line as they tried to make things work. Following [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Mike, meanwhile, suggested that everyone does \u201ca risk assessment tool on your brain on how to make decisions a little better.\u201d He added, \u201cLife is a product of your decisions. And if you\u2019re intoxicated, sometimes it\u2019s impossible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Being able to reflect on the past has led to more authentic versions of Mike and Vinny on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Mike told Us<\/em> that he \u201ccan\u2019t be fake\u201d anymore and has to \u201ctell it how it is,\u201d teasing that viewers will \u201cdefinitely\u201d see that side of him this season.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do walk the fine line of being a father and a husband in my sobriety and how close I am with the castmates,\u201d Mike said. \u201cBut then if I have a disagreement with somebody, you guys are going to know as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

When it comes to Vinny\u2019s onscreen drama, Mike teased, \u201cHis villain arc is coming. This is the first time, I think, in 15 years that he\u2019s had a little bit of beef in the season.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vinny joked \u201cit\u2019s like a 20-second beef\u201d involving castmate Jenni \u201cJWoww\u201d Farley<\/strong> that doesn\u2019t linger.<\/p>\n
