It\u2019s been three years since Matt James<\/strong><\/a> has appeared on a reality television show, but he\u2019s not ruling out a return in the future. In an exclusive interview with Life & Style<\/em>, the former Bachelor<\/em> lead and Dancing With the Stars<\/em> contestant reveals what it would take for him to star on a reality show again.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m always open to a good opportunity if it\u2019s the right opportunity,\u201d Matt, 32, says, while promoting his partnership with RXBAR, adding that he\u2019d love a \u201credemption run\u201d on Dancing With the Stars<\/em> if he had the chance.<\/p>\n \u201cThat show was so much fun,\u201d Matt admits. \u201cI had a blast. My only stipulation would [be] they\u2019d have to bring Lindsay [Arnold]<\/strong> back. I know that she\u2019s, you know, a full-time mom now, along with other things she\u2019s doing, but she was just the best partner and made it so much fun. I\u2019m super stoked for anyone who\u2019s getting to do that now.\u201d<\/p>\n Matt was partnered with Lindsay, 30 on season 30 of Dancing With the Stars<\/em> in 2021, just months after his season of The Bachelor<\/em> concluded in March of that year. They finished in 12th place.<\/p>\n DWTS<\/em> isn\u2019t the only show Matt would consider, though. \u201cThere\u2019s so many fun shows and opportunities nowadays,\u201d he says. \u201cA lot of my friends have done Special Forces<\/em> and that seems like a lot of fun. I\u2019m a competitor, so something with, you know, some physical activity and a way to compete would be ideal.\u201d<\/p>\n Bachelor Nation\u2019s Tyler Cameron <\/strong>and Hannah Brown<\/strong> both previously competed on Special Forces: World\u2019s Toughest Test<\/em>, a show where contestants have to survive elements of the actual United States Special Forces selection course. They were both successful in completing the notoriously difficult mission.<\/p>\n Matt is currently training for the New York City marathon with the support of his girlfriend, Rachael Kirkconnell<\/strong>, who was his final pick on The Bachelor<\/em>. The two did not get engaged on the show, and even briefly broke up before the season finale aired. However, they quickly reconciled<\/a> and have been going strong for more than three years.<\/p>\n \u201cWe just kind of go by the beat of our own drum,\u201d Matt admits. \u201cI think that\u2019s why it works for us. We just try to make each other happy and no one else. We just kind of live in our own bubble and do the things that make us happy and that seems to be working for us.\u201d<\/p>\n Since Matt didn\u2019t propose to Rachael, 27, on The Bachelor<\/em>, fans have anxiously been waiting for him to get down on one knee ever since. However, he doesn\u2019t let the public pressure get to him. \u201cAnything will affect you as much as you let it affect you,\u201d the former college athlete explains. \u201cYou just have to have thick skin. Being in New York helps a lot. Being a former athlete helps. You just grow accustomed to it. It just goes back to doing what makes you happy and doing what you feel is right. That\u2019s why I think we\u2019re in such a good place<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
