Fresh off their acquisition of The Brutalist<\/i><\/a> at Venice last week(ish), A24 has bought stateside rights to Friendship<\/i>, a comedy starring Emmy winner Tim Robinson (I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson<\/i>) <\/i>and Paul Rudd.<\/p>\n

Written and directed by Andrew DeYoung in his feature debut, Friendship<\/i> recently premiered at TIFF and was the second runner-up for the People’s Choice Midnight Madness Award. It stars Robinson as a suburban dad who obsessively pursues \u00a0a bond with his charming neighbor, played by Rudd. Kate Mara, Jack Dylan Grazer, Josh Segarra and Billy Bryk also appear in the film.<\/p>\n

The writer\/director said in a recent interview that when he sent the script to Tim Robinson, he told him “I wrote this for you and I want to shoot it like [Paul Thomas Anderson’s] The Master,” so…… count me all the way in tbh!<\/i><\/p>\n
