It was all love between Martin Short<\/strong><\/a> and Selena Gomez<\/strong><\/a> at the 2024 Emmy Awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Only Murders in the Building<\/em><\/a> stars may not have taken home any gold on television\u2019s biggest night Sunday, September 15,\u00a0but they put their cute bond on full display as they presented an award with costar Steve Martin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got you, baby,\u201d Short, 74, was heard sweetly telling Gomez, 32, as they took the stage with Martin to present the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. (The Bear<\/em>\u2019s Ebon Moss-Bachrach<\/strong> took home the prize.)<\/p>\n

The Only Murders<\/em> trio were one of the night\u2019s highlights<\/a> and clearly enjoyed themselves onstage as they descended into laughter while presenting the award. Gomez teased that her costars were on the verge of becoming \u201cchildless cat ladies.\u201d<\/p>\n

In another gag, Gomez said, \u201cThe Emmy Awards! What a magical evening it\u2019s been trying to remember people\u2019s names,\u201d before Short added that they were \u201cpretending that we\u2019ve seen their shows.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gomez, Short and Martin, 79, all went home empty-handed on Sunday, though it was still a special night for Gomez, who scored her first nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Jean Smart<\/strong> ultimately won the award for Hacks<\/em>, while The Bear<\/em>\u2019s Jeremy Allen White<\/strong> won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, beating Short and Martin.<\/p>\n

Short also had viewers eagle-eyed as he was spotted sitting<\/a> next to another Only Murders<\/em> costar, Meryl Streep<\/strong>, amid persistent dating rumors. The pair smiled and whispered to each other while watching White accept his award.<\/p>\n

The pair\u2019s Emmys appearance comes after months of speculation<\/a> about their offscreen relationship, which ramped up after they sat next to each other at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards. In January, a rep for Short denied that the two, who play love interests on the Hulu series, were dating, saying in a statement, \u201cThey are just very good friends, nothing more.\u201d<\/p>\n
