Here\u2019s to the small screen! The 2024 Emmy Awards<\/a> brought together Hollywood\u2019s best and brightest to celebrate another year of outstanding television.<\/p>\n

Before the ceremony kicked off on Sunday, September 15, the stars hit the red carpet<\/span><\/a> in style. Selena Gomez<\/strong>,<\/span><\/a> Jon Hamm<\/strong>, Jennifer Aniston<\/strong><\/span><\/a> and more posed, preened and spoke with reporters outside the Peacock Theater in L.A.<\/p>\n

The 76th Emmys were hosted by Schitt\u2019s Creek\u2019s <\/i>Eugene<\/strong> and Dan Levy<\/strong>, who delivered plenty of laughs as well as trophies<\/span><\/a> to their performing peers.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tTV\u2019s Biggest Night never fails to deliver fierce fashion. Stars including Selena Gomez, Jennifer Aniston, Da\u2019Vine Joy Randolph and more are nominated at the 2024 Emmys, taking place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 15, and hosted by Eugene Levy and son Dan Levy. Gomez, 32, is nominated for Outstanding Lead [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Red Carpet Glam<\/b><\/h3>\n

A-listers didn\u2019t just step out in style \u2014 some wore ensembles that matched the carpet<\/span><\/a> itself. Sofia Vergara, Gillian Jacobs, Janelle James<\/strong> and Niecy Nash Batts<\/strong> were among the attendees rocking red. Shogun <\/i>breakout Anna Sawai<\/strong>, for her part, called upon Vera Wang<\/span><\/a> to dress her for the awards show. (Spoiler alert: She also tearfully won<\/span><\/a> her first-ever Emmy.)<\/p>\n

All the Victors<\/b><\/h3>\n

Of course, the winners<\/span><\/a> (and their speeches) are the most pivotal part of the evening. Performers including Jeremy Allen White<\/span><\/a><\/strong> (The Bear<\/i>), Jean Smart<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>(Hacks<\/i>) and Billy Crudup<\/strong> (The Morning Show<\/i>)\u00a0 took home trophies. Nabbing her first-ever Emmy, The Bear <\/i>actress Liza Col\u00f3n-Zayas<\/strong> won the award<\/a> for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, making her the first Latina woman to win in the category.<\/p>\n

Marking another first, Eugene and Dan Levy were the first-ever father-son duo to emcee the show, and kicked off the night with a memorable shared monologue<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI played a lot of dads in my day \u2026 but without question my most rewarding dad role as been your dad,\u201d Eugene, 77, gushed in his monologue, taking a pause. \u201cIn Schitt\u2019s Creek <\/i>because it got me my first acting Emmy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Let this trio host next year! Gomez and her Only Murders in the Building <\/i>costars Martin Short<\/strong> and Steve Martin<\/strong> nearly stole the show as the first presenters of the evening.<\/p>\n

What a magical evening it\u2019s been trying to remember people\u2019s names,\u201d Gomez chimed in before Short added that they were \u201cpretending that we\u2019ve seen their shows.\u201d Short was later seen sitting beside another Only<\/i> Murders <\/i>costar<\/a><\/span>, Meryl Streep<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Although Eugene and Dan Levy ribbed in their monologue<\/span><\/a> that The Bear<\/i> was nominated in the comedy category despite a serious lack of jokes, the series still swept at the ceremony. White, Col\u00f3n-Zayas and Ebon Moss-Bachrach<\/strong> won for Lead Actor, Supporting Actress and Supporting Actor, respectively. In total, The Bear <\/i>took home <\/span><\/a>11 Emmys. However, in something of an eleventh-hour upset, it ultimately lost Best Comedy Series to HBO\u2019s Hacks.<\/i><\/p>\n

Richard Gadd<\/strong>\u2019s Baby Reindeer <\/i>also had a successful night, winning four trophies including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. Hulu\u2019s Shogun <\/i>also had a lucky evening, taking home 18 awards.<\/p>\n

The Last Week Tonight <\/i>host won Outstanding Scripted Variety Series and made sure to thank his wife, children, colleagues \u2014 and a recently deceased family pet<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI also want to thank our dog, we have the most fantastic dog. She was at our wedding and she got us through two pregnancies and the pandemic\u00a0 \u2014 perfect choice of music,\u201d Oliver, 47, said as the play-off music began. \u201cWe had to say goodbye to her.\u00a0 I feel like Sarah McLachlan [in a PSA] right now, she was an amazing dog. This isn\u2019t just for her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Who doesn\u2019t love a reunion<\/span>? To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the sitcom, Happy Days\u2019 <\/i>Ron Howard<\/strong> and Henry Winkler<\/strong> reunited on the Emmys stage in a replica of the iconic set.<\/p>\n

West Wing <\/i>fans also got their fix with a reunion<\/a> featuring Martin Sheen, Dul\u00e9 Hill, Allison Janney, Richard Schiff<\/strong> and Janel Moloney<\/strong> standing in front of a replica of the Oval Office.<\/p>\n

Gathering TV Icons, One Archetype at Time<\/b><\/h3>\n

The nostalgia didn\u2019t end with those reunions! The broadcast also brought together stars who\u2019ve played iconic characters from various professions.\u00a0 There were segments for TV Doctors (Mindy Kaling, Zach Braff <\/strong>and Mekhi Phifer<\/strong>), Coaches (Jane Lynch <\/strong>and Brendan Hunt<\/strong>), Moms (Susan Kelachi Watson, Connie Britton <\/strong>and Meredith Baxter)<\/strong>, Dads (George Lopez, Damon Wayans <\/strong>and Jesse Tyler Ferguson<\/strong>), Cops (Niecy Nash Betts, Don Johnson <\/strong>and Jimmy Smits<\/strong>), Lawyers (Viola Davis, Gina Torres <\/strong>and Christine Baranski)<\/strong>, and, rounding it out, Villains (Antony Starr, Giancarlo Esposito <\/strong>and Kathy Bates<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

Millennial nostalgia reached a fever pitch as Joshua Jackson<\/strong> and Matt Bomer<\/strong> presented the Governor\u2019s Award to Greg Berlanti<\/strong>, creator of many hit shows including You<\/i>, Everwood<\/i> and Jackson\u2019s Dawson\u2019s Creek<\/i>. The two presenters walked on stage<\/a> to the Dawson\u2019s <\/i>theme song, \u201cI Don\u2019t Want to Wait.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
