Chu<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s highly-anticipated movie adaptation of the Broadway<\/strong><\/a> musical would be going head-to-head, they will not<\/em><\/strong> be in the same acting category this awards season, THR<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n According to the report, a decision has been made to push Cynthia<\/strong>, who plays Elphaba, in the lead actress category, while Ariana<\/strong>, playing Glinda, in the supporting actress category.<\/p>\n This is notably different from the distinction made for the original Broadway production by the Tony Awards Administration Committee 20 years ago, when Idina Menzel<\/strong><\/a>, who created Elphaba, and Kristin Chenoweth<\/strong><\/a>, who originated Glinda, both competed in the category of best actress in a musical.
