That said, I do love the idea of flying around in <em>Spider-Man 2<\/em> \u2014\u00a0the only game I love to just aimlessly explore for hours at a time \u2013\u00a0with perfect graphics at blistering frame rates.\u00a0Technically this isn\u2019t up for preorder for a couple of weeks, but I\u2019m sharing it now because we\u2019re all going to need to start saving money ASAP.<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/apple.sjv.io\/anb2BY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>The AirPods 4 with ANC<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong> I\u2019m sure the iPhone 16 is fine, but to my mind, this is the most exciting thing Apple launched this week \u2014 a set of open-ear headphones with decent noise cancellation is a rare and exciting thing. You probably can\u2019t buy it, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/9\/10\/24240700\/huawei-mate-xt-ultimate-design-tri-fold-price-launch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">at $2,800<\/a>, you probably wouldn\u2019t want to anyway, but I love that this thing exists.<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.themoviedb.org\/movie\/1214506-will-harper\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>Will &amp; Harper<\/strong><\/em><\/a><em><strong>.<\/strong> <\/em>I keep hearing great things about this doc, in which Will Ferrell and Harper Steele drive across the country and try to make sense of their relationship after Steele came out as trans. There\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/09\/07\/magazine\/will-ferrell-harper-steele-interview.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>a great New York Times interview<\/strong><\/a> with them about the process, too.<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pod.link\/recodemedia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>Channels with Peter Kafka<\/strong><\/em><\/a><em><strong>.<\/strong> <\/em>Nobody does insidery tech media pods like Kafka, so I was psyched to see him back on the digital airwaves once again. (I guess, disclosure, he\u2019s making the show with Vox Media, <em>The Verge<\/em>\u2019s parent company.) The first episode, with <em>New Yorker<\/em> editor David Remnick, was a good one.<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pod.link\/1740187810\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>Panic World<\/strong><\/em><\/a><em><strong>.<\/strong> <\/em>Another great new podcast! Ryan Broderick writes one of my absolute favorite newsletters about the internet, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.garbageday.email\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>Garbage Day<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, and the first episode of the podcast has the same \u201csmart but borderline unhinged\u201d vibe to it. It\u2019s delightful.<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.focus-entmt.com\/en\/games\/warhammer-40000-space-marine-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2<\/strong><\/em><\/a><em><strong>. <\/strong><\/em>I\u2019m a pretty simple gamer. I like games where I get to battle with and \/ or against cool robots, and I love when everything is needlessly intense and gory. All of which is to say, I\u2019m confident I will find the latest Warhammer installment utterly ridiculous and delightful \u2014 just as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/gaming\/447285\/warhammer-40k-space-marine-2-review\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">everyone else seems to<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><strong>\u201c<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/4Vdqj4v4N32N0TDCArMWJ1?si=sLwW6KJOTh6ErrkNfbueIA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Goldeneye Watch Music<\/strong><\/a><strong>.\u201d <\/strong>This song is 100 percent guaranteed to be on my Spotify Wrapped this year, just based on this week alone. (It already worked on Android.) I\u2019ve been shooting a lot with film cameras, including a medium format <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mamiya_C330\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mamiya C330 Professional<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hasselblad.com\/about\/history\/500-series\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hasselblad 500C\/M<\/a> \u2014 then I scan to digital from there.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\">I also collect and shoot with rare or unusual lenses and am in the early stages of building my own lens, but still very much in the design phase, and this will likely take me a while to execute.<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\">I have young kids, so a lot of my time revolves around transporting them to various activities and locations, but I really enjoy the time I spend with them and the people who support them in all their myriad pursuits.<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\">I\u2019ve got glasses on the mind \u2014 I\u2019ve been talking about the challenges we\u2019ve overcome building our first working AR glasses prototype, and I\u2019m very excited about them, as is Mark [Zuckerberg]. We\u2019ve seen the success and appeal of displayless smart glasses with AI built into them with the <a href=\"https:\/\/go.skimresources.com\/?id=1025X1701640&amp;xs=1&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fgo.skimresources.com%3Fid%3D66960X1616420%26xs%3D1%26url%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fwww.ray-ban.com%252Fusa%252Fray-ban-meta-smart-glasses%26xcust%3DVergeInstaller091324\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses<\/strong><\/a>, and the prototype we\u2019ve built is on the other end of that spectrum, where you now also have a wide FOV display in a true glasses form factor.
