Taking their lead from Christine, both Janelle and Meri have ended their marriages to Kody Brown.<\/p>\n<p>As Christine was the first, many were \u2013 and remain still \u2013 unsure if she\u2019ll continue with the show now that she\u2019s no longer married to Kody. <\/p>\n<p>To be frank, Christine has been very honest about this topic, letting fans know exactly when she plans on leaving <em>Sister Wives<\/em> for good. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><noscript><\/noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"575\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.thehollywoodgossip.com\/uploads\/2024\/09\/0912_sisterwives_header.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-509201 lazyload\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cdn.thehollywoodgossip.com\/uploads\/2024\/09\/0912_sisterwives_header.png 1024w, https:\/\/cdn.thehollywoodgossip.com\/uploads\/2024\/09\/0912_sisterwives_header-300x168.png 300w, https:\/\/cdn.thehollywoodgossip.com\/uploads\/2024\/09\/0912_sisterwives_header-768x431.png 768w, https:\/\/cdn.thehollywoodgossip.com\/uploads\/2024\/09\/0912_sisterwives_header-728x410.png 728w, https:\/\/cdn.thehollywoodgossip.com\/uploads\/2024\/09\/0912_sisterwives_header-960x539.png 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 760px) calc(100vw - 20px), 720px\" data-pin-media=\"https:\/\/cdn.thehollywoodgossip.com\/uploads\/2024\/09\/0912_sisterwives_header.png\" loading=\"lazy\" data-trellis-processed=\"1\"\/><figcaption><span class=\"image-caption-credit\"> (Image Credit: TLC)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 id=\"h-the-beginning-of-the-end\">The Beginning of The End<\/h2>\n<p>Christine married Kody spiritually on March 25, 1994, becoming his third \u201cwife\u201d after Meri and Janelle.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Fast forward to October 2022, when fans watched as Christine and Kody\u2019s marriage dissolved for good in the 17th season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Over the course of that season, viewers went behind the scenes of their unhappy union and watched as Christine and Kody talked in detail about their challenges and issues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think we both just need to be free of each other,\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2022\/09\/christine-brown-i-should-have-left-kody-years-ago\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Christine told Kody<\/a> on the September 18 installment of the TLC series, adding at the time:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was bad before COVID.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been 10, 12 years of bad.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The mother of six announced a few months before that episode aired that she was done with spiritual husband Kody, splitting from her spouse after finally realizing just how one-sided their relationship had become.<\/p>\n<p>For his part, \u00a0Kody revealed in the Season 17 \u201ctell-all\u201d episode that part of the reason he spiritually married her was that she was \u201cpolygamist royalty.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He selfishly knew that her family name could help boost his status inside the church. In fact, she not only stuck around for season 18, she appears in season 19 as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI made a promise to Kody and everybody else that I would stay in <em>Sister Wives<\/em> as long as we have the show just to be fair,\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.etonline.com\/sister-wives-star-christine-brown-talks-her-future-on-the-show-after-splitting-from-kody-brown\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Brown told Entertainment Tonight<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s what our family\u2019s been doing for so long. I feel like it would be disloyal if I decided to not be part of the show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And Christine has kept that promise and beyond. For her, despite no longer being married to Kody, she still considers herself a sister wife, namely because she is so close to Janelle.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs far as Sister Wives goes, I\u2019ll still be doing things with Janelle quite regularly,\u201d Christine explained, which turned out to be incredibly true.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The two shared many family moments together throughout the last two seasons.
