Bloomberg <\/em>reports<\/a> that the entire staff of Annapurna Interactive, the gaming division of Megan Ellison\u2019s Annapurna, has resigned after failing to convince Ellison to let them spin off its games division into a new company. IGN <\/em>is corroborating the report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Former president Nathan Gary, Annapurna Interactive executives, and \u201caround two dozen\u201d staffers have resigned, Bloomberg<\/em> reports. An Annapurna spokesperson told Bloomberg<\/em> that existing games and projects will remain under the company. Annapurna didn\u2019t immediately reply to a request for comment from The Verge<\/em>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Last week, The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> said<\/a> that Gary and the coheads of Annapurna Interactive, Deborah Mars and Nathan Vella,\u00a0would be leaving. THR<\/em> also reported that Annapurna planned to \u201cintegrate its in-house gaming operations with the rest of Annapurna\u2019s divisions, which include film, TV and theater.\u201d Hector Sanchez, who most recently headed up the Unreal Engine games business at Epic Games <\/strong>and is an Annapurna Interactive cofounder, announced last month<\/a> that he would be president of interactive and new media at Annapurna.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Annapurna Pictures, the company\u2019s film arm, has won countless awards for a variety of films, including Her<\/em>,\u00a0American Hustle<\/em>, and\u00a0Zero Dark Thirty, <\/em>and the company had only been expanding its ambitions alongside its video game publishing hot streak. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
