It\u2019s his first time in the franchise again since 2004\u2032s <em>The Edge of Reason<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>In a new interview, <strong>Hugh<\/strong> reflected on returning and revealed that his involvement almost didn\u2019t happen. <\/p>\n<p><strong class=\"hidearticle\"><em>Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><span id=\"more-2051988\"><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2024\/film\/news\/hugh-grant-rejected-studio-movies-non-creative-execs-1236140787\/\" onclick=\"getOutboundLink(&#039;https:\/\/variety.com\/2024\/film\/news\/hugh-grant-rejected-studio-movies-non-creative-execs-1236140787\/&#039;); return false;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vanity Fair<\/a>, <strong>Hugh<\/strong> explained that he was not involved in the 2016 movie <em>Bridget Jones\u2019s Baby<\/em> because his character \u201cjust didn\u2019t belong.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>When he got contacted about <em>Mad About the Boy<\/em>, he said that he \u201cloved the script.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt made me cry, and I wanted to help with this one,\u201d he explained. \u201cBut really there\u2019s no part for Daniel Cleaver in it at all.
