<\/p>\n Aubrey Plaza<\/strong><\/a> opened up about the terrifying side effects she suffered from having a stroke at age 20.<\/p>\n \u201cIt just happened,\u201d the Megalopolis<\/em> star said during a Wednesday, September 11 appearance on The Howard Stern Show<\/em> per Delaware Online<\/a>. \u201cThat\u2019s when I was paralyzed, but only really for a minute or something. I lost my motor skills really briefly. The freakiest thing was I forgot how to talk.\u201d<\/p>\n Plaza shared that the health scare was a \u201cwild\u201d experience especially since it came out of nowhere.<\/p>\n \u201cIt happened mid-sentence,\u201d she recalled. \u201cI took the train to Astoria to have lunch with my friends and I walked into their apartment \u2015 I hadn\u2019t even taken my jacket off.\u201d<\/p>\n This isn\u2019t the first time Plaza has been candid about having a stroke. In August 2017, she shared how her friends initially thought she was joking around but Plaza was able to signal she needed help.<\/p>\n \u201cI think [my friends] thought I was making a joke \u2026 I was always doing something stupid,\u201d she said in an interview with NPR\u2019s Fresh Air<\/em><\/a>. \u201cBut then after a couple of minutes, they kept saying, \u2018Do you want us to call an ambulance?\u2019 and I was aware enough to shake my head yes. I kept just shaking my head yes because I knew something was really, really wrong.
