\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Malcolm Washington<\/strong><\/a> is hitting the red carpet at the premiere of his directorial debut!<\/p>\n Malcolm<\/strong>, 33, premiered his new Netflix movie The Piano Lesson<\/strong><\/a><\/em> at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival<\/strong><\/a><\/em> on Tuesday (September 10) held at the Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto, Canada.<\/p>\n Supporting Malcolm <\/strong>at the premiere were his parents Denzel<\/strong><\/a> and Pauletta Washington<\/strong><\/a>, sister Katia<\/strong><\/a>, and brother John David<\/strong><\/a>, who appears in the movie.<\/p>\n Cast members in attendance also included Ray Fisher<\/strong><\/a>, Michael Potts<\/strong><\/a>, Skylar Aleece Smith<\/strong><\/a>, Danielle Deadwyler<\/strong><\/a>, Corey Hawkins<\/strong><\/a>, and Gail Bean<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n Here\u2019s the movie\u2019s synopsis from Netflix<\/a>: \u201cSet in 1936 Pittsburgh during the aftermath of the Great Depression, The Piano Lesson<\/em> follows the lives of the Charles family in the Doaker Charles household and an heirloom, the family piano, which documents the family history through carvings made by their enslaved ancestor.\u201d<\/p>\n The Piano Lesson<\/em> comes to select theaters on November 8 and will be released on Netflix on November 22.
